What are the stock mufflers on a 2014 GT called?
We had a very minor accident with our new GT (ran over something at very slow speed) but Geico was kind enough to replace the damaged items underneath the car with new Ford parts even though they said the damage was strictly superficial (scratches).
So we got the car back, and my wife and I don't know whether we are imagining things or not, but it sounds louder.
So we looked on the parts receipt of what they did (they replaced mufflers) and it says "REMOVE AND REPLACE LT MUFFLER all w/o BOSS302.
We are wondering if they were always called 302 mufflers or whether we got a deal of some kind
Thx
Tom

I wonder if the shop saw the smashed-looking resonators and took them out when changing the mufflers?
Crawl under there, shoot some picks and let's see what you got!

No it just says what I quoted. I called the service manager here on Saturday and he said he'd have to check with his guys on Monday, but that as far as he knew the mufflers were ordered based on the VIN of the car...but it sure seems louder and the parts list does say BOSS 302

w/o usually means "without". I read it to mean you got regular GT mufflers.

Aren't new mufflers louder when new anyways? I may be mistaken, but I always thought they quieted up a bit as time goes on.... but then again... That could be opposite or complete wrong...
... I possibly just wasted everyone's time... lol

Just so you know, the GT500 mufflers are the same cost as OEM GT mufflers and can be selected during an insurance claim as the replacement... which one is damaged? I have a "lightly used" drivers side GT500 muffler sitting in my garage that I would happily sell if you got a passenger side GT500 under insurance claim... PM me if interested

I was wondering for those who have a 13 or 14 that have put on the GT500 mufflers...do the tips of the GT500 mufflers stick out way farther than the stock muffler tips?

My drivers side muffler on my car sticks out an inch or so further than passenger side. Was like that when I got the car with OEM exhaust too. Haven't really figured out why.
But GT500's are pretty much the same as stock

My factory exhaust stuck out a little more on the driver's side vs the passenger side. When I put my Roush AB on, it was the same thing. I still need to pull out the tip on the passenger side a little.
When I installed a Ford Racing AB on my fiancée's 2007 Mustang GT, the driver's side pipe also stuck out farther than the passenger side.
