What size tires for 19 x 8 Fronts and 19 x 9.5 backs?
I am looking at these rims in the gloss black

To maintain the 27" overall diameter, the best would be 255/40-19 front and 285/35-19 rear.

I have 245/45-18's (26.7") and that little bit makes a big difference, not just on launch but even on the highway.
The factory Boss 302R comes with 275/35-18's only 25.8"...
I actually went up a small amount on mine, 275/35-20s, and haven't noticed a problem. Bit less torque, yes, but better ride than a 30 series tire. And fills the wells better, too.
On the track, though, I go down, to 275/40-18, but might try the lower 35 series when I switch to DOT race rubber.
The biggest problem with that amount of change isn't just the odometer, but the ABS circuitry also relies on the OEM tire diameter.

It's less than a 1.5% change, any hand held tuner can correct the speedometer, but it's not even necessary,
speedometers are generally +/-3% anyway unless you have a police certified speedometer.
The ABS doesn't know the diameter of the tires on the car only the relative difference between them at any given moment and even that has to be extreme for it to activate. The ABS isn't nearly that sensitive otherwise you couldn't use the spare which is only 25.54"

Brian, most 255/40/19s require a 8.5" minimum rim width. Not to mention turnin on the car with the 255s on a 8" wide rim is going to be sloppy due to the sidewall being pinched. Think about it..255mm is right at 10", with a 8" wide rim there will be 1" over hang past the rim on each side..it will be pinched bad.
In fact most manafacturers prefer a 9" rim for their measured dimensions.

BTW, thats why the Brembo cars have 255/40/19s on a 19X9" wide wheel. It performed best and the 9" rim width is the rim width in which the 255 tire is measured for its dimensions.

Notice its a 275/35/18 tire on a 10" wide wheel..perfect.
Except the tires you show on tirerack.com require a 8.5" minimum rim width for the 255's. In reality this setup is not a good setup for the Mustang. The Mustang is a nose heavy car and yet you are running a ill fitted front tire with only 8" of rim width along with a 9.5" rear rim and a 285 tire. For the Mustang to handle properly you need to run as square of a setup as possible. I would run a 19X9.5 on all 4 corners and a 275/35/19 on all 4 corners. Yes a 285 will fit no problem and it does meet the criteria as far as minimum rim width is concerned but its not optimum. Now if the OPs intention is just for looks well I still wouldn't run a 255/40/19 on the front cause it will look terrible with all that pinch going on and there won't be any handling improvement over a 245 tire as the sidewall isn't supported. I would run a 245/40/19 on a 8" wide wheel.

On my 19 x 8 up front I plan on running 245/45 19s and on the 19 x 9.5 rears running a 275/40 19 Does that look like a good setup?

Is this going to be a track setup or a street setup? Also, a 245/45/19 is going to be too tall at almost 28" tall for the front, you should keep it to a 245/40/19. If it is a street setup you are fine, I would like to see you run at least a 8.5" front so you could run a 255/40/19 up front so once again even for the street you don't get too much of a stagger as it would aggravate any push the car has. I see the wheels you are considering don't make a 8.5" wheel, if you could run 9.5's all around that would be the smart setup.

Also my stock 18's are running on 235/50 18s which gives it a 27.2 tire height. If I ran 245/45 19's that would give me a tire height of 27.6, will that 4/10ths of an inch make that much of a difference. Only reason I as is if I go with 245/45 19 up front and 275/40 19's in the back I get a lot more tire options and can save some money on the initial purchase. Just curios
Dave's quite right in what he said, I didn't realize you were looking at 19x8 (didn't read close enough). I agree you should do 9.5" all around. That's what my GT500 take-off track wheels are, and no rubbing with them (18 x 9.5"). If you go to a 285 front you might get rubbing, but entirely dependent on the offset.
The fronts should be 245 or 255, 40 series, the 45 profile is for the 18s. 27.6 doesn't seem like too much, but you're getting to the upper limit. Bigger diameter in the rear isn't as big a concern as there's more room there.
I would agree a square setup is ideal for these cars, the width in front cause they're nose-heavy and understeer prone, and in the back because of all the power you want to put through them. So my advice is 275 or 285/35-19 all around, on 9.5" rims.

Oh, and the heights reported by the various manufacturers differ for the same tire sizes. The desired height is 27". You can easily argue that tire pressure and tread wear will change the fractions of an inch we're arguing about, and people get away with even up to 29" in the rear, and probably to 28" in the front, just flash the ECU with your SCT as mentioned above, but again not ideal.

Gah this has jacked all my plans up
Now I need to rethink everything. I was right within a price range the wife wanted me to be with all TSW rims I listed and what I tires I thought I could run. But now I need to either find different rims or rethink my tire budget.I was trying to get all season tires.
My head hurts now
