What size rear tires??

My car has a Boss Mani, steeda cai, and steeda tune. Installed steeda billet LCA's with BMR relocation brackets and even with them set in the lowest hole (for the most traction) the car is still roasting the tires through first and second gears. Car is a track pack so it has 3.73s And stock p zeros. I love the track pack wheels and have an extra set so I am going to send two to weldcraft to get widened to 19x10 or 19x10.5. Will a 295 tire do the trick. Can't leave the control arms at their lowest setting for traction because I don't like the way the rear feels when handling hard.

A 295 tire will fit with the right offset...some folks have run 305 and 315 tires (though tire selection can be fairly limited in some sizes).

Having the stock wheels widened may give you some options as to where the "widening" is added...so I'd say that the answer to your question is YES.

I can also promise you that even though the stock Pirellis are pretty good for an OEM tire, a more dedicated performance tire will help a lot.

Why don't you save yourself money and get the 19x10 track pack replicas american muscle sell?

I don't think the American Muscle ones are the same color as the OEM ones. If they were, I'd have to get a set. Hopefully they come out with some the same finish as stock ones.

If I remember right, adding an inch will net +10mm of offset. That should put in the +50 offset range, so a 305 should be no problem.

The offset on my rear 20x11 Steeda Spiders is 59mm. Steeda runs 315 wide Nitto Invo's with no issues, or at least I'm told no issues. I put 315 Michelin Pilot Super Sports on mine and get a very slight rub at heavy jounce and extreme off camber driveway approaches. I think the shoulder on the Pilots might be slightly more square should than the Nitto's and what's causing the issue. I might be able to adjust that out with the panhard bar but haven't tried yet. Guess that should tell you how bad the issue really is!

My advice would be go no wider than 295 or 305.

Probably going to go the 305 route. My car came from a steeda dealer with the Spiders and invos but I did not like the black wheels on a black car. Made them reduce price and put factory track pack wheels and tires back on. Don't know why but I really like the OEM look. Will give weldcraft the spider specs and see what they recommend. I actually like the Steeda ST-R wheels but they don't make them in silver. If my car was just about any other color I would have kept those spiders in a heartbeat.

I run 305's in the rear, but I still lose grip 1st, 2nd, and partial 3rd. When the tires are heated up, they're better at gripping, but still get overpowered. I might try Mickey Thompsons next time.

Edit... because the MT's might grip SO well, is that a concern for those of you boosted (dark side) folk pushing at least 550 to the wheels? Any concern about too much grip that you might blow the rear end?

I am running 255/35/20 front and 305/30/20 rear with no rub what so ever! The car is on 20" niche Targas. 20x9 front and 20x10.5 rear.
