My dad accidentally filled his Goldwing Trike up with 107 octane (maybe 105?) at a service station in Fayetteville. He said it ran a lot better and seemed faster haha. Too bad it was $6 a gallon

We sell it and deliver it to several area stations and it's nasty stuff.

Ok, sorry, I've been away from my computer all day and I'm just now reading all of the answers. By far this is the best one in my opinion, assuming the facts are correct. I must be honest and say that I'm not knowledgeable enough to be able to confirm this. I live in Northern Virginia, near DC, and I'm pretty much at sea level. We do have about 4 months here where it can get really hot, in the 90's and sometimes over 100, but most during the Spring and Fall it's generally between 60 - 80 during the days, and 30 - 50 at night. A normal Winter has temps in the 40's during the day, and in the 20's at night. It sounds like to keep this simple I should just use 91 octane with a stock tune. If I change the ECU map I will go with the recommended octane for that map. Thank you for answering my question, and saving me a little cash.
What sucks is that here in Cali I can only find 91 octane, I have to travel to a shop (which is getting harder to find with all the new Cali regs) that sells unleaded racing fuel. Now I have to bring a flyer for a DE to prove to the shop that I am going racing and that is why I need the fuel. Some shops still sell it from the pump but it is Sunoco GT100. I like the 105 unleaded personally as it ends up being cheaper to blend 105 than 100. Also, the price per gallon here in Los Angeles for unleaded racing fuel is at $9.99 per gallon for most places that sell it. I can find it for less but would have to drive over 20 miles to get it and the ROI is gone after burning so much gas just to get to the station, so I just pay the $9.99 for the Sunoco GT 100.
