Huh?? Gearing is gearing. Temps will have no impact on how fast you can go in a gear.

2012 GT w/ 3.55s, MT-82 - 1st is about 34 @ 7300RPM, 2nd is about 65-66 @7300. I usually shift at 7000, though, so it's about 32 and 62 respectively.

Hawkeye, I'm never sure if you like your mustang or not. Do you?

RPM wise? Prior to the Coyote/Road Runner engines with the exception of the S-197 Bullitt all of them were limited to 6250 rpm. The Bullitt is limited to 6500 rpm (IIRC) and I can't remember the Coyote or Boss but I think its 7000 rpm and 7500 rpm repsectively.

I can go about 50 mph in 1st in my car - never paid attention though, although I did run right smack dab into the rev limiter in 4th and one of these days I think I'm gonna try that in 5th as well.

Sorta wished they had geared the 1st gen GT500's like the 2013 car so you aren't forced to shift into 2nd before 60 mph, but I suppose given the power and overall gearing of the 1st gen GT500's that wouldn't have gone over to well, at least it only requires three shifts at the track.

I'm somewhat confused by this. My post was entirely factual in nature, and I wasn't aware there was any emotion imparted in it.

With my Bama Tune, I have the redline set at 7300. As I have a regular GT engine and not the BOSS edition, though, I try not to take it up that high. I just don't like the rev limiter kicking on at 7000rpm.

I love my Mustang! But it's not perfect - nothing ever is. I wouldn't say any of its problems are "major" - the biggest problem I had was where the clutch pedal was, and I fixed that a few weeks ago. Now, if I could only magically move the cup holders...

Indeed, the cup holders are dumb. I love my mustang too, I might even be called a fanboy. But I'm still not delusional enough to call it perfect either. I don't think it means I hate my car, I'm just a realist, or at the very least aware of some flaws

This whole thread is screwy, it would just be easier to look at the transmissions gear ratio's, rear gear ratio, engine redline, and tire diameter. All data below is based off the MT82 manual trans.

Based on the Premium GT (245/45/19) 27.7" diameter tire:

3:31 Gears
1st = 46.27 mph @ 6800 rpm
1st = 47.64 mph @ 7000 rpm
1st = 49.00 mph @ 7200 rpm

3:55 Gears
1st = 43.15 mph @ 6800 rpm
1st = 44.41 mph @ 7000 rpm
1st = 45.68 mph @ 7200 rpm

3:73 Gears
1st = 41.06 mph @ 6800 rpm
1st = 42.27 mph @ 7000 rpm
1st = 43.48 mph @ 7200 rpm

4:10 Gears
1st = 37.26 mph @ 6800 rpm
1st = 38.46 mph @ 7000 rpm
1st = 39.56 mph @ 7200 rpm

Based on the Brembo/Track GT (255/40/19) 27.2" diameter tire:

3:31 Gears
1st = 45.44 mph @ 6800 rpm
1st = 46.78 mph @ 7000 rpm
1st = 48.11 mph @ 7200 rpm

3:55 Gears
1st = 42.37 mph @ 6800 rpm
1st = 43.61 mph @ 7000 rpm
1st = 44.86 mph @ 7200 rpm

3:73 Gears
1st = 40.32 mph @ 6800 rpm
1st = 41.51 mph @ 7000 rpm
1st = 42.69 mph @ 7200 rpm

4:10 Gears
1st = 36.68 mph @ 6800 rpm
1st = 37.76 mph @ 7000 rpm
1st = 38.84 mph @ 7200 rpm
