What if....

Ike some other cars, going into, say AdvanceTrac sport mode changed engine parameters like a tune would?

For example, say I get a Bama tune for my car, then I put it into sport mode and suddenly bam! It's a REAL sport mode with additional power AND a cammed idle?

Our current technology realistically should allow this. If I had a performance mode in my Grand Prix with a switch, I should totally have this with Advance Trac.

I don't know anything about the programing that is involved but it sounds logical to me. I always had this in my old Audi's. It's a switchable tune that you controlled by clicking buttons on the cruse control. Even had a valet mode that limited the revs and whatnot.

But, thats what the my key is for.

Luxury/exotic cars have had that for years. Only recently Ford has jumped in with the red Track key for the Boss. That's the closest we've seen so far...

Hey Cowboy....APR much? I wish that were the case. If it were then the aftermarket tuning companies would have to be much more competetive. I usually just drive in the standard steering setting and turn the T/C off. I will save the Sport setting for the track. I get a lot of vibration in that mode especially on the highway. I might take it in and get it checked out as I don't think that's normal. I don't know how much the T/C differs with the AdvanceTrak Sport mode. I think it's like an in between off and full on. Do one of you guys in here know?

TheDivaDanielle,

I agree this would be a pretty cool feature. Since Sport mode is only offered in the Automatic and only effects Shift points, it may be difficult.

We have been testing this out over the last few weeks and found a few pretty cool features. We can't actually change the performance between the two, but we can change the shift points. For example: You could be driving on your 93 Performance tune, Click the sport mod button and it would automatically load the shift points for the Race tune!

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions feel free to hit up my Bama team. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 10AM-3PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

I meant like the advance trac sport.

Like sport mode loosens the traction control and stability control nannys and firms up and steering quite a bit. Would be cool if it would modify operating parameters too.

Never quoted myself, but that's what sport mode does.

That would be sweet if a tune could be activated by the trac control buttons. Seems like it might take a separate module to hold the tune since I would say the cars system can only hold one....except maybe the Boss. Either way...would be nice.

I miss GTPs... Has to be darn near impossible to find one that isn't either beat to hell or miled to hell by now though.

Fun cars, plus they beat up on 2v 4.6's with minimal mods.

Did you change the blower? Hard pressed to see more than 13 on the M90 before ts efficiency nosedives.

I think I only had 11psi with a 3.0, xp cam, togs, 3" and supporting mods on the stock gen iii m90. Good enough for mid 12s

PFYC.com still uses my old pacecar for their ads for the F1 Hood.

Did you install an inter cooler? That gave me a huge gain and supporting mod, allowed the s/c to do its job and not retard timing on high outlet temps. Also installed a new machined intake with the blower outlet enlarged to cut down on temps. The best guy at DHP tuned it very well, got it spinning to around 6400. Also I Upgraded all the wiring to the fuel pump, and alternator to fuse box. ZZP told me I could not do anything else to it until I upgraded the injectors, at the limit of the fuel injection. I'm sad to have to let it go. On some occasions it surprised hemi r/t owners. That 4t65e has held together nicely, but I'm sure some input shafts would have snapped if I put on slicks. Gonna miss that HUD to. I get 15 psi all day long, 16.5 or so when it gets cold out. I can take a vid for you next time I have it out... Your cam probably lowered your boost, mine is probably what you call minor boost stacking. Also going to miss that blower whine...
