What do you think of spacers to bring out stock rims?

I was wondering what you guys think of running with spacers to bring the stock GT 18" rims out a bit more flush with the fenders to give a better look?

Thanks,
Griff

Just use a quality spacer and you'll be golden. I used to run H&R spacers on my 370Z... no problems at all.

I run the H&R too, like you see in the "pic of lowered stangs with stock rims thread"

I need the spacers for the stock 18" winter rims,´cause of the Brembos. But they look also great with the 9x19 (therefor we had to shorten the bolts) stock rims

I saw your's and you using the H&R's. I saw some spacers on the site that had bolts on them and some don't have bolts on them. Which spacer do you use? Can you post a link for me if you know.

Thanks,
Griff

So this is the spacer you used? Does it come with those bolts on it and if so I assume those are for mounting the tire to, what about the existing bolts on the hub on the car? Or are the existing bolts on the car long enough to go through the spacer and leave enough for the wheel to be mounted on.

I guess I can't figure out how the spacer mounts on the car etc.

Think I found my answer, the existing car studs go through the spacer and the spacer is bolted to the hub and then the wheel is mounted to the spacer studs. What happens if the studs on the car are too long for the spacer and arent flush or below the outer spacer surface?

Depends on the rims. With the 18" on my picture, theres no problem with the bolts. The holes on the inside of the rim are deep enough. For the 19" from the Brembo Package we had to cut them a bit, so that everthing fits.

You have to find it out with your rims .....like "try and error"

On my 11 GT, the spacers fit on the rear, but the studs up front were too long. I ended up selling the spacers because I did not want to cut off the stub nubs.

I had 25mm (4) H&R hubcentric wheel spacers on my last car (Dodge). Looked perfect. I won't be doing this to my Mustang.

It was a Dodge Caliber. I lowered it 2 inches and used 25 mm spacers to bring the tires closer to the edge of the fenders. Cheaper to use wheel spacers than to buy new wheels with the extra offset

I like the way my Mustang looks from the factory. I can't lower it because i scrap the front lip alot as it is. Too many hills and dips in the area i live in. If i 'could' lower it i might would go with 20mm or 25mm H&R hubcentric wheel spacers.

Just like we know that having bumpers that aren't lined with strips of LEDs is the coolest too, right?

Spacers are a style and a personal preference. It probably does nothing to improve handling and more than likely shortens the life of your wheel bearings and certainly adds superfluous unsprung weight.

The OP wanted opinions...that's mine.
