What do you think of this shift ****?

http://www.americanmuscle.com/shelby...09-billet.html

Anyone have this shift **** from American Muscle? It says all I have to do is twist off my stock shift **** and just screw this one on. I tried twisting off my stock shift **** the other day and it's extremely hard to twist, do I have to like use a lot of power to twist off the stock shift ****? What is your opinion on this item?

The stock **** is PITA to get off, and if you have a Shelby, then I like it, if you don't then I don't!

Have you checked MGW's site for thier shifter *****? After breaking my shifter in, I've got nothing but good things to say about it and the shifter ball atatched to it.

It seems like I read a thread somewhere about heating the **** (gently) with a heat gun and using a strap wrench to get it off.

Not my cup of tea. Aluminum shift **** is very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter.

I agree 10000%. LOVE my MGW shifter. One of my best mods. A must-do, IMO.

To the OP, don't just change the ****, change the entire shifter assembly. It's night and day. The MGW shifter ball is perfect as well.

I've had aluminum shift ***** all the time... for summer, I always have a MF towel that I keep in the car to dust. I just put that over my **** whenever I park. Case solved. For winter, it takes just a few minutes to warm up after holding it... case solved.

Does it have the reverse on the left or right like in the pics? I know the pics are for the GT500 but do they have a different ball for the 6 speed GTs?

The MGW shifter ball is the same as the shelby or others... reverse is left. Would have to be, to match the actual movement.

Right, but the pics on the website show reverse to the right. If you click the link that ALSCobra posted above. I assumed that the Shelbys had reverse to the right, dunno I don't have one. Anyways, thanks for the answer.

Hmmmm very interesting. Perhaps mgw just didn't update their site pics yet. My black mgw ball **** has the shift pattern printed/embossed on it. And this pattern is the same as what's on the oem ****....reverse on the left of 1st gear.

the billet **** would tend to get hot as hell during the summer... Yikes. I have a **** which I got through Galpin, it looks like the mgw unit. It's white with kona stripes and the shift pattern on mine is actually correct. I love this ****.....that's what she said.

Sorry it was too easy.
