What do you think? (help me out)

I have been wanting a Mustang for a while. I thought I was getting a 13', but then the reality of money hit pretty hard. I could afford a 13', I just would like to keep my car below 25k, for comfort. My ZIP is 36330. I am trying to find an 11-12 used. I was looking at 10' but people told me to stay away from them and get an 11' or a 12' used.
I found these 2 online and they seemed like pretty good deals (obviously not paying what they are asking)
If you guys could help me on my search, I really do not want to travel more than 5 hours max. And I really want the car to have less than 15,000 miles on it.

Thanks!

The reason they say to stay away from the 2010 is because they still have 4.6l engine, the 2011-12 began running the new 5.0. Thats what you want.

those are both good examples, you should be able to negotiate down off their asking price

Thanks guys!

And what would be a fare offer on them? (never really negotiated a car before)

Those are good prices, I looked at '11s before I ordered the '13 but couldn't find one selling under 27k.

Some things to consider in favor of the new car:
-You may get a better financing rate on a new vs. used car which would help with payments
-If you use Ford x-plan you could get a base GT for about ~$28,500.
-Ford is offering $1000 cash back, add that to x-plan and that makes base GT ~$27,500.

Not trying to bash your decision to go pre-owned, just pointing out things you maybe didn't consider. Good luck either way you go!

My 2 cent is 2013 with the X-plan does make a lot of sense... You should be able to get a nice 11 for around $25K however for another $3K you could be sitting in a brand new one with the color of your choice. Good Luck and have fun with it

Just to play devil's advocate, look at the first car OP linked to. That's a 401a car with the electronics package and pedastal spoiler. A '13 optioned that way would be almost $39k MSRP. Yeah it's a 2 yr old used car but that's a 13k difference.

OP, are you really after premium options (nav, leather, etc) or would you be perfectly happy in a base GT?

Have to agree here...nothing wrong with the 4.6L. Amazing sounds, good tuning potential, not too shabby stock, **** reliable too.

If a V8 Mustang on a budget is the goal, the 2010 would do just fine.

No not really. The best stang for my $ is the way I want to go!

I know its not an 10-13. Just asking for your opinions.

My 0.02 worth. From a girl who just bought her first one.

Figure out your list ... The "must haves" and the "negotiables". Take it right down to colour if you need. Then buy the car you want, not the car you are willing to settle on, because bottom line you will never be happy with the one your settled on.

That means you might have to wait, it might mean new v used. What's more important to you...having your car or having YOUR car.

Again just my 0.02.

just make sure you really want it. I bought my '05 GTO when I was single. I regret it. 34k was a lot to pay for a car when you are single.

7 years later and I'm less concerned to pay 45k for my '13 Mustang GT, as I'm engaged, and it's our car. Less of a burden, plus in general I'm just older and much more financially stable.

Listen to Her_Stang!!!!! She put it perfectly.

ONE option you decided against or settled without will BOTHER you the entire time you have the car. You may not think so now but it will. Think of it this way....You are spending 25k+ on a TOY. Spend 26 (or the little bit more), and get what you really want.

I ordered my car and love it every single day. However, I got cheap when deciding on HIDs. I said Nahhh, 401 a month is better then 416. I curse myself everytime I drive at night

Buy new for $27.5k like I did. Most new cars are a bad deal, but the Mustang is better than most cars that cost more. You can get financing deals for 1.99% for 60 months that will save you even more vs used.

N3kKo,Is a V6 out of the question for you? Ive seen 11-12 modest equipped mustangs go for low $20K.. that way you have PLENTY of breathing room to "mod" which is rarely accounted for when car shopping..say something like this http://www.procharger.com/2011_v6_mustang.shtml
That would be a cool sleeper and goes without saying you will be surprising alot of GTs among other cars if thats your thing. Smiles go a long way when you have scratch in the pocket. Just a thought, regardless happy hunting

I would probably get a used Premium 12 model if you can find the right deal. I bought a Base 12 model and its slowly but surely becoming a premium. Base stereo sucks and so do cloth seats. As soon as i get the engine where i want it power wise the seats are getting re covered in leather.

Not a bad idea here really, all depends on finding the right price for yourself.
