So, I put some GT500 axle backs on my 2013 GT and it sounds about right now. Not too loud, not too low and a little deeper. Easy job took about an hour for the first time thanks to the tips, but I did it my own way.

That said. What do I do with the stock mufflers?

I see them on Ebay but why would anyone want to buy them?

I already have made the mistake of warehousing a bunch of stock Jeep parts. It's been 12 years and I have yet to find a use for those other than taking up space.

/ok, not helping, sorry. That's the problem with the stockers... nobody wants/needs them, unless they wanna go back to stock for some reason or another.

Right now, these cars are all over, and parts are plentiful. However, in about 10 years, they may get scarce. Perhaps folks will be looking to put a 20xx Mustang back to stock, maybe not. If you have the room in the attic, store them away.

I wish I would have kept all the Trans-Am and Corvette parts I took off of the cars I owned back in the late 70's and 80's today. I'd be selling them to fund the projects I'd like to do with my current Mustang!

Same boat as you, op. I just have mine stored in the basement somewhere. I might change out my gt500s someday, so if I sell them before I get new ones, I might slap the stockers on for a bit...... Or not

Another thought that I hope does not happen to anyone....your car gets into an accedent, and it ends up being totaled. Some insurance companies will allow you to remove aftermarket parts and replace with stock before the vehicle is towed off to the boneyard. Assuming the aftermarket parts are not damaged, they can be sold or used on the new replacement vehicle.

I would hang on to them if you have the storage space. I always keep my stock parts in anticipation of reverting everything back to stock in the event I decide to sell/trade it in.

I kept all the stock parts from my 2006 Mustang and gave them to the new buyer in case he wanted to put it back to stock. A great addition to selling your customized Mustang is the ability of a new owner to make his own changes. Not everyone wants your modifications like a BOSS LT stripe.. LOL had to do it

Well i just traded my GT500 Axel backs for a set of Rousch axel backs and the rousch didnt get to my house until after i left for work for two weeks so i had to put the stockers back on until i get home, so thats another scenario ill probably never get rid of them just in case i ever need them again

I have stock mufflers on now and just picked up another stock set. I am going to cut them open do a little chop cut rebuild on them for more sound. I know a couple of people have done this. Also some people get rid of their stock mufflers and then when they go to sell their cars think its better to return them to stock soooooooo they need to find some stock pieces. Throw them up on fleebay someone will buy them

Second this. My stock mufflers are stowed away in my loft in the garage, but in the event that I ever sell her I can always put the stocks back on.

You may also need them in case of warranty work. My car has a minor throttle issue on start up. The dealer says I need to put the intake (K&N drop in) and exhaust back to stock in order for them to do anything with it.

The stock muffler I removed from my 2005 Ford F150 could have been cut in half and used as a water or food troft at a farm....it was huge!

I hate keeping extra junk around the house. I know I'll never use the stock mufflers again. I'll trip over them - they're a safety hazard. They were in the trash can 20 minutes after they came off my car.
