Supposed to take some of the edge off, make it less raspy and quieter at idle and cruise.

And yes, you could take them off, 2010 and earlier didn't have them.

Will it throw a code or be illegal? I think I might just have this done, if no codes. Thanks!!

Another topic:
I added SFC's to my '95, does my '11 need them? I will never race or anything it. Just did to my 95 cuz I heard it was safer.

Won't throw any codes as they are downstream of the O2 sensors, but mufflers wouldn't do any of that anyway..

Illegal? Can't see why unless they test for noise levels near you.

Subfame connectors would depend on your intentions for the car.

Yeah, I wasn't paying any attention to your location, Texas doesn't care about no stinkin' mufflers. Hell, take all four off of it!

Is there still a boot factory there or has it all moved to Mexico?

Nocona Boots stopped quite a while back. Sorry I have no idea when. There is a Montague boot place, I think. Sorry I am not a boot wearing guy! We do still have the only American made baseball glove factory! Nokona Athletics! I have bought hundreds of them!!

Yeah, I used to drink beer with the head cop here. Chief, I think. Stopped drinking or I still would. We don't care about the 'big city' laws/crap here!! I do though want to keep my car as legal as I can. I don't, but I could go to big towns/DFW.

All 4 cats, I'm guessing? I thought it would throw a code or I would!!
I see this, 'Won't throw any codes as they are downstream of the O2 sensors, but mufflers wouldn't do any of that anyway.', don't really understand it though!

Only two cats on these cars, 4 mufflers, two in the rear and the two resonators in the middle.

The reason it wouldn't throw a code if you made changes to the exhaust past the O2 sensors is that they wouldn't pick up on the changes, but mufflers wouldn't make any changes to affect the sensors anyway.

Yeah, I'm sure you've picked up but I don't know much of anything now. Even less of cars! I guess when that 4 wheeler hit me, knocked what knowledge I did have away. Sorry you had to tell like you did! Just what it takes for me to pick up on stuff now.

When my mechanic had car on rack, I just guessed they were cats. On my 95, it did have 4. Just guessed that was normal. Again I had 95 for 7 years. It took all I had to learn about it! Now I have to learn all new. Thanks, I printed that out & I'll show to my guy. See ya!!

No problem, always ready to help inform those who want to take it in.

The other thing about removing the resonators is that if you decide you don't like how it sounds after you remove them it won't take much to put them back on.

I thought this. I think I can if I remove those extra mufflers, right?

Resonators target specific frequencies. Like for instance a drone frequency. Take them out and it will be marginally louder, but may also drone real bad.

Y'all can try. I'm part of a lot of forums! So far nobody has described 'drone' so I know what it is. Please try.

I can't see any change unless it is a night & day difference! If it's any way small change, not even worth changing it up. Removing the cats on my 95, huge change! Going to dumped exhaust, even bigger! Has to be like that. Just how I am re-wired after my lil nap.

I talked to my exhaust guy about if headers would help me out. He says what came on it is better than my 95's. Said only a small noise change. He knows not enough so I'd notice. My mechanic is really an exhaust guy. He just does all my needed stuff.

Get a set of muffler deletes for the rear mufflers, makes a huge difference in sound if that's all you're after.

What are muffler deletes? Yeah, all I will ever care about is the sound! It's already way fast, for me. Not really need or want any perf gains.

Found some on Lethal Perf. It's for the last 2, so it has the tips on it. Don't want them done away with. Looked on their site, don't think I see any?

I now see you typed rear mufflers. Sorry!

Muffler deletes are pipes with the big tips on them that replace the rear mufflers and tips, just straight through pipes, no mufflers.

I think they sound pretty good but are extremely loud at wide open throttle.

If you want to go all out on loudness, SLP Loudmouths seem to be the loudest IMO. I've heard them in different generation mustangs and they do turn heads and can probably startle you if you're not paying attention. I can't imagine there not being a lot of drone with them though. Here's the only video I found with them on a 2011 GT.

Pretty sure I'ver listened to that video before. I like loud, just not obnoxious loud! My buddy had a SLP kit on his 03 Cobra. It was that bad loud, to me. He loved it. I am perfect with what my FM's sound like!! I just thought it might be better.

Again, I have no idea what drone sounds like! Thanks!!

It's really only obnoxious at WOT, not bad when you don't have your foot in it.

The other thing you can do to take some of the sharp edges off the muffler delete sound is to change out the "H" pipe for an "X" pipe, makes it sound a lot smoother but still loud.
