It was a nice car for about 5000 miles.

The dealer was the most incompetent one I've ever dealt with. Their fix for a leaking rear window washer was "Stop using it." I ended up getting banned from said dealer because they said I questioned them too much.

It started rattling and things would come apart going down the road. I was riding down the interstate, hit a bump and the rearview mirror fell in my lap. I went through two steering wheels because the stitching would come out and the leather would begin to unwrap itself. I had two door panels replaced because the soft-touch coating wore off where my arm sat. My windshield started to delaminate at around 30,000 miles. I had a seat cover replaced because it tore around the airbag for no apparent reason. In the end, the rattles just became unbearable considering it was a nearly $30,000 car new.

The DSG transmission I had was horrible. I was jerky and slow, and looked like I couldn't drive. Towards the end, it started false neutraling at stop lights and would just rev up and then slam into gear, which my new dealer told me was normal for a 34,000 mile car. As was a leaking valve cover gasket.

I traded it with 36,001 miles on it. The rear brakes were down to the indicator and started squealing as I turned into the Ford Dealer.

The gave me $20,000 trade in when I owed $17,000. So that was a nice down payment on the 5.0.

Wow! What a piece of junk! Glad I didn't buy one. I've read constant shifting problems with that trans.

Yeah I was rather unimpressed with my first and last VW. The dealers are absolutely terrible!

Yep, that's wht I traded my TT for my 5.0 (well, one of the reasons).
The Audi/VW dealer in Augusta couldn't repair anything and their customer service was horrible. I swear every time I took the TT in for a repair it would come back without being fixed and at least one other thing broken.

Thank you for explaining. Wow. You know what, you are the nth person I have heard folks saying that they had terrible experiences with VW. I was thinking about buying a used passat instead of our used fusion, I am glad I went with the fusion.

Dude, yes. If you even smelled of enthusiast you were shunned and denied warranty work.

Yeah, you're WAY better off with the Fusion. I wouldn't be so hard on them if they had fixed the things broken. Instead I got BS reasons like "It's turbo and it's normal for a valve cover to leak a little" or "your transmission is acting up because the service is due in 8,000 miles"

Either way, I'm much happier and better off in my 5.0. My payment only went up about $70/month and my insurance only went up about $10/month vs. the GTI.

Also why I got rid of MY TT. To expensive to repair and I knew it was not long before it needed a new turbo.

Sold our '66 GT coupe a few months ago...and am currently selling my '94 Cobra ( 347 stroker ) to finance a '14 Premium GT. She'll be a manual SGM with Track Pack, Leather Recaros, and Glass Roof.

Here are some photos of the '66 GT and the Cobra...

The green '66 coupe is mine forever ( restored it from the ground up ).

Those are some beautiful cars. Doesn't it feel like deciding which of your favorite pets you want to trade in on a new one? I couldn't make the tough choice you made. I'm sure you'll love the new mustang but wow! What a choice to have to make.

I hear ya Mr. V. Thanks for the kind words! I love all cars, but I definitely have a BIG soft spot ( wife calls it an addiction, but whatever... ) for Mustangs. My younger daughter wasn't too thrilled that I sold the '66 GT, and my wife really likes driving the '94 Cobra and she'll miss it when it is gone, but saving for retirement ( someday... ) and for the kids' education forces regular guys like me to make choices like this. Plus, I'm going to be losing storage where I have been keeping 2 cars, so the fleet had to be downsized.

Somehow I'll make it thru...I'm thinking a Kenne Bell on the '14 will help! But then the '14 will be quicker than my '66...so that'll lead to a stronger motor in that car. Life is tough!!

Who wants an awesome '94 Cobra??

2011 base gt auto in grabber blue for 2013 base gt auto in race red. Payments lowered by over 50 a month and I like thehids and leather wrapped wheel. Both ran very well. Bone stock 2011 12.374 at 114 and 2013 12.33 at 114. Both very trouble free cars.

Must have been some damned good air and well prepped tracks.

Here is my old car! Also where I formed my name...I probably should have updated it when I joined here. I used to be all about Euro cars when I was younger but now I own 3 American beasts!
