Steve/Stan, nice work on that. I've been toying with going all black on the intake now, and doing the Ford blue coil covers from the Boss. This kinda swayed me more that direction now.

I think flat black might look a little more factory. Also, I'd hit the edges of the fittings with some black permanent marker or paint so they don't stand out (the reddish-pinkish edges).

Well, it's been a bit since I've updated this thread. I finally decided on getting the heat shield painted Kona Blue to match, and the velocity stack is getting done in a wrinkle black, similar to the finish of intake tube. I picked up my shield and brackets today, and it looks awesome! Perfect match to the body color, and should really blend in (that's what I'm going for). Hopefully I pick up the stack tomorrow, along with my clamps, and I can get this installed and have pictures up to follow.

This is true Rod. You might hear it, but when the hood is open, it'll look very discrete. No bling in the front corner.

I've got the heat shield, brackets, and air scoop on. I should have the remaining parts this afternoon.

I just did this, and they look much better. Doesn't appear to wipe off either. I'm just curious why Steeda didn't use a coupling that was black all the way through.

Many silicone pipes I've seen, from numerous manufacturers uses the same orange core and just wraps the outside with color...
Some are colored all the way through, depends on who's manufacturing the hose. I have a solid black, blue and red in the shop...The fiber reinforcements still show up as white though, so you'd need to do the black-out anyway.

I have seen black piping done all the way through. It's a very minor detail, so I'm not worried about it.

I used some short (black) sheet metal screws (#6 3/8") at the bend to hold the trim in place... Drill through the trim and shield (cobalt drills work best in stainless)

You can see one in the lower right of this pic:
