Warranty Question

So I have a question for you guys here as this is my first new car and I'm curious as the warranty on Fords, I'm the 2nd owner of a 2011 Ford Mustang with mfg date 09/10. So as of recently my car started blowing smoke. Did simple bolt ons and used a Bama tune. I've heard about the cyl8 problems a bit before having to do with bad/aggressive tuning and I figured with 2017 there would be many revised tunes and not the problem again. But then I did an o/r x-pipe and a bama tune and had smoking problems at first but they chalked it up to just break in period. Now after many months it's gotten a ton worse and it's definitely oil smoke and cyl8 plug was black, wet, and fuzzy. So the smoke only came about when it was on decel so I was told valve seals by everybody and when we did a compression test it failed. So now we're gonna have to tear it down more to see what was the cause unless it would be best to bring it to the dealership. But I'm just curious on what the warranty is like. I have money set aside to get a used 13-14 longblock because I've heard those years did not have the problems at all. Car has 59,464 miles on it. Thanks to anybody and everybody who took their time out to read my post and maybe post.

Best regards,

David Phung

5 year 60,000 mile warranty on the Power train so the warranty was up 5 years after the first time it was titled. Also since it is running no cats and is tuned any warranty on the motor was voided by most dealers right there even if it had a warranty left.

5 year 60,000 miles, which ever comes first. Modding the engine also voids the Power-train warranty. Spend the money and get the long block OP.

Alright guys, thank you for the info and the help! I’ll make sure to just get a longblock. Can’t wait to get her back running right.

Figured I could bump this thread up as it still sorta pertains to the situation but if I were to get a new longblock, would I be able to run say a gen 2 coyote and utilize my tune for my gen 1? Or stay within the same generation to make sure everything will be plug and play?

If you use the PCM that's in your car I would think the tune would work. If the new motor comes with it's original PCM your tune will not work.
