And I'm just supposing they tested the same vehicle on the same dyno. Change dynos and/or test different vehicles at different times on different days and its not even worth arguing over the difference in results. You can skew the results even farther if the operators have different methods (did the observe a warm up procedure and so on) let alone making sure the dyno was in correct calibration.

Without knowing all this, you just have to shrug your shoulders and pick the chassis dyno that best supports your argument (Ford guys will cite 610 HP and Chevy guys will cite 580 HP )

I suppose if anybody ever gets the chance to ask Hameedi, maybe he could divulge the amount of drivetrain absorbtion the current car has.

what concerns me is that I am able to take my GT up to a GPS verified 167 with an 87 octane tune in it with 86 octane gas in the tank (@ 6400ft) and a car loaded down with two people and the back and trunk full of suitcases and supplies and the GT500 only went 196. I would have thought the 200hp gap would had made a bigger difference.

Also makes me wonder if the GT has 175 in it...

The GT500 isn't as slippery as the GT which itself isn't a very aerodynamic car plus the power required to get to 200 mph isn't a linear one or myriad other details like the car's actual power at the time of the run as well as gearing.

The Camaro SS by comparison is capable of over 170 mph with 425 hp and I'm sure the GT can get there too provided the gearing is correct it probably just takes forever.
