V6 BOSS

I was at the dealer this morning taking my Taurus in for brake noise (for the SIXTH time) and saw a 2011 V6 with an add-on BOSS package, including stripes and Shelby special edition wheels.

If they build it people will buy it. Not a bad idea but needs a little more power, and not just appearance.

Taurus brake noise? Make sure they performed the latest (and greatest?) TSB 10-17-3. I sure hope this fixes these cars...

I've had the original brake TSB performed twice, with the rotors actually replaced the second time. Four other trips where they either couldn't duplicate the problem or didn't see anything wrong. Worse than ever now, almost continuos grinding/grabbing. The parts just became available for the 'revision'... but my dealer doesn't have some. So they're ordering them and paying for a rental (somewhat reluctantly).

I sure hope they get it fixed because my wife won't drive it anymore until it's right. Which means the wrong person is driving the Mustang.

Just to play devils advocate, lets keep in mind that the original 1969 Boss 429 had a 0 to 60 time of 7.1 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 14.09 at 102 mph.

http://www.mustangspecs.com/boss/69boss.shtml

By comparison the 2011 V6 Mustang hits 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds with 14.00 1/4 mile time.

Heck my 4.0 V6 is faster than that original Boss Mustang.

But I still wouldn't put a BOSS sticker on either one. lol

That dealer should have to drive the worst POS trade-in off the back row as his demo for a month as penance.

When will consumers learn; stop buying these cheap imitations so that then finally the dealers stop building them.

If it's still there when they get the Taurus fixed I'll take some pics. The wheels looked really nice.

Answer to the question of what else in on there is I'm not sure. Stripes, wheels, tires. I didn't look closely at the interior. There must be more beause I think they said it's a $4900 package.
