The Ultimate Case of Withdrawal...

Funny and sad story (but with a happy ending) for you guys. This past Monday I called my insurance agent and had him turn off the insurance on Marilyn, and get her stored... the forecast called for "flurries" Tuesday and this week.

Never happened. Sunny, mid 40's. Then forecast for all of next week, sunny, 50's.

So I was willing to forego it, and just live with waiting till March to drive her again...

Then my buddy with the 2013 GHIG 5oh (who plans to drive his in winter via snow tires) IM's me at work today and says "Wanna go for a quick ride?". Facing severe withdrawal already, I quickly say "sure"...though I KNOW for a fact why he asked me to go... I heard his Borlas again and felt that pin me in my seat - feeling.

Needless to say, after only THREE DAYS of storage insurance, and not more than 15 minutes of returning to my office and verifying the forecast for next week, I called my agent and reactivated Marilyn until further notice... perhaps I can get another 2 weeks of driving her.

p.s. I am in trouble... this is going to be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG winter when I do store her

Of course I do. I wouldn't be on a forum if I didn't.

not trying to pry, but is the savings really that significant that you cant leave the regular insurance on all winter and take it out for a spin on the occasional warm winter day?

I'm so glad I live in a part of Oregon where I can drive year round (we maybe get 2" of snow a winter, and when it does snow, it never stays for long)...

My car just gets dirty faster in the rain...

I'm going to keep mine insured year round and drive it when the roads are dry. It's not good to let a car sit for months at a time, at least that's what I tell myself to justify insuring two cars.
I will never, ever drive another Mustang in the snow.

I feel for you Z, you have those sweet new Borlas. I know I get the shakes when I dont drive my baby for a day . It's going to suck when we have snow and ice, (I'm not driving her then). I have a bad feeling we are going to get spanked this winter after having such a mild one last year.

Where are you located that you've already stored her, this early? (If you dont mind me asking).

Yeah I am worried about this winter too. I feel like she's teasing me with this 50 degree weather, now that I reactivated her again.

Am located in Iowa...not too many clicks from you.

I sure do enjoy living in Florida. And with the GT500 exhausts installed from your Mustang, each day driving back and forth from Orlado to Tampa is even more enjoyable!

On vacation next week; off to the Turkey Rod Run Friday.

Never bugs me in that way. I'm content with putting my cars away for ~7 months at a time. This year, two of mine started Oct 1 and the other two about a week or so later. I don't enjoy and it actually breaks my heart if any of those four were driven in the salted mush of water and ice.
