To Tune Or Not to Tune?

"That is the question"

If you have to ask.... Stay bone stock.

That's my honest advice and not a slam.

Tune the nut behind the wheel first. There is way more potential in these cars in stock form than probably anyone on these forums can exploit.

My reasons for tuning were more for throttle response than a gain in power. The factory throttle response is lethargic on a good day. Tune it and it's instant power commanded by your right foot, just the way it should be.

Can it void your engine warranty,i read a thread about that, some guy tuned his mustang and damaged the engine.he returned it to stock and brought it back to the dealership.but he ends up paying 3k for the repair because te mechanic knows that he tuned it.the mechanic told him that the tuning leaves a traceable fingerprint on the onboard computer.

Don't do it! Ford has a TSB and will void your warranty!

Will they void it if you just get an intake and don't tune it?

I just put a Steeda CAI and Bama Tune on my 2011 with 19k miles on the clock. I had buyers regret up until I got the CAI and Tune installed, and I'm loving it so much that I wish the car was tuned like this from the factory.

You don't have to go for an all out performance tune. BAMA has a wide selection of tunes. I run a basic street tune and it made the car 110% better all over. It is so smooth now on power delivery it really is how the car should have been tuned from the factory. You won't regret the move thats for sure.
