Trade or Supercharge?
#21
I'm going to go against the grain here...
1 - your V6 is PAID for.
2- those 12k miles are your miles.
3- you don't know how the GT would have been driven, even if low miles put on.
4- you supercharge your V6, You'll spank ANY stock GT on the road
5- still maintain better fuel mileage!
I say keep your car and mod it up.
(Even though you did end up trading it up! can't go wrong eitherway....) Congrats

Im curious what the MSRP was. I guess owning a Mustang means looking for the next challenge because I knew my v6 had all the power I would need..still true. But now I'm wondering if I could swing a trade up in the future. The 5.0s in my hood have started leaving an impression.

You could of purchased a pro charger supercharger, forged the entire engine, upgraded your entire suspension, new tires, bolt on mods out the a$$, dyno tune and still have money left over of the 14k. With a fully forged engine you could of turned up the boost to easily make 600-700 rwhp all while having a little V6.
Beautiful new Gt bro, congrats but just adding my thoughts as the thread was asking.

Congrats on the new Gt but have to say personally staying with your V6 would of been the way to go in my opinion. As you said previous posts ago, you out right owned your 3.7. Your paying an extra 14,100 dollars for the Gt. Do you know what kind of mods one could buy for 14k? A lot of good $hit. 14k got him a factory 420 HP 5.0. 14k modded V6 would get 700 rwhp V6 with soup to nuts mods. Just depends on what someone wants. I currently own my 3.7 and no payments. No way would I currently spend 8 to 10k out of my pocket to have factory 5.0.
Me personally, I would spend the 10k and build the engine up and other supporting mods needed for it. I don't care about what the car is worth after the mods, I'm not modding for an investment. In fact, best way to keep the cars full value, don't mod at all. Keep it factory.

True , its always gonna be a V6 but that owner who already owns the V6,will get far more performance value spending 14k on modding it over a factory 5.0 for 14k.

I see your point of view Kona. I had the money so I did it. It didn't break the bank for me. Was it a smart decision financially? Hell no! I had called the shops around san antonio for quotes and with parts and labor I would of been well above 14k for what you're talking about. Either way I was going to spend the money. So I just chose the V8 as my new platform. I can tell you right now I don't regret the decision. I already have CAI, Exhaust, and X-pipes on the way

No, 14k + price of the original V6 would get him the stuff you mentioned. The original car had to be paid for as well. As it is, he now has a much less expensive GT that, in a few years, he will have paid off like he did his V6 and can use that extra money to mod a much more receptive and a potentially much more powerful/stable platform. Not to mention, he can now enjoy a warranty on a more powerful car without a single mod should he so choose.

All one needs is a supercharger and tune for 6k and your at 400 plus rwhp on the 3.7. One still has 8k left of that 14k to spend on mods should they choose too
