In first gear, clutch fully engaged, all I have do to is just go WOT above maybe 3K RPM and the tires break loose. 3.31 gears. Though I've only got the stock all-season 235s.

Speak for yourself! We've had pretty much the worst summer on record here in SK!! Had a high of +14 the other day (57 F) and it's been raining for three months.

Well if you were at the concert then you could have got Alex Geddy and Neil to sign it like the guy in the video from the concert (I saw them last Friday at Bayfest in Sarnia).

Just don't eat Neil's sandwich!

back on topic -- sort of . . .

what do I have to do to get mine to bark third?

maybe it's a bit much to ask with the 3.31 rear since I'm hitting third at about 65 . . .

It's all about how fast you are going from second to third. And your ability to slap it into third and immediately drop the clutch. It's really quite easy! In my 08 GT it only happened once in a blue moon, if the tires were anywhere near warm. With the 11, it happens whenever I please, lol.

To the 48 year old Canadian - I'll be in downtown Toronto next weekend with my 11 GT and fiancee - send me a PM, we can meet up and do burnouts together for some photo op's.

Chirping the tires on the shift also depends on the road surface. You may be spinning the tires on the shift and the road surface just doesn't have enough bite to make the tires chirp.

Ók here is my result

Turned off the TC.

Was in front of my house with like 20 people looking on

I took all advice from this site.

reved her up to 3000 RPM

Let go the clutch.

Back wheels spun.

But

the back end lifted up.

no burn out or chirp

I looked like a moron

Guess I am missing something from all the advice posted here?

Did you stomp the throttle pedal to the floor after you dumped the clutch?

Also, once the tires are spinning you will have to modulate the throttle to keep from over-revving and keep the tires spinning.

Or, just forget the whole thing and not wear the tires down unnecessarily.

you probably didn't turn the traction control all the way off.

My friends 4 banger Neon could do a burnout. Rev it to 4500 RPM in neutral then throw it into Drive. Yes, Drive. It was an automatic lol.

lol...sounds like my first burnout attempt in my 11 V6. With people watching, all I did was make the car jerk around. After a couple of weeks of getting used to the car, and finding out how to completely turn the TC off...my second attempt. Revved the RPM's up to about 3800, dropped the clutch a bit, and the thing tore loose...actually freaked me out a bit at how easy it really was and how much power it had. It was like chocolate.

To turn the TC off completely, you need to hold the break down and the TC button down for about 10 seconds at the same time. You'll see the TC light up after about 10 seconds...then you know it's completely off...at least that's how in the V6 anyways.
