In fact, you can't order the Mach 1000 stereo, any of the accessory scoops, the stripe packages, OR a spoiler if you choose the "Track Pack", at least according to the "builder".

Personally, it's fine with me.

If someone's not willing to sacrifice the useless spoilers and scoops to get the "Track Pack", then they obviously aren't THAT interested in the extra performance. Also, you could always add the "Track Pack" or the accessories LATER, if you really HAD to have both.

That being said, I'm surprised that they would do that, since the accessories aren't significantly ANTI-performance. Also, I'm not saying "Yeah, people who care about the scoops shouldn't be able to have the Track Pack"... but I like the general concept of keeping the "performance" versions of cars limited on non-performance-related add-ons.

Whatever the practical reasons, I'm with the OTP. The Track-Pack doesn't do anything that makes the stock spoiler options unable to be used, so why is it a conflict? The build option paths are just retarded. If people want to give Ford money, let them. If people want a performance package along with a styling feature, what the hell is the problem? I'd understand if the track-pack came with a new trunk lid or something that made the stock spoilers incompatible...but it doesn't.

At the end of the day, I'd go with the track-pack because it's a more involved add-on package, but I'd still go buy a spoiler and put it on if I...say...decided the fking car I bought was MINE and I want it to look how I fking want! So instead of giving Ford all the money for two options they sell and can provide together, they only get some and I give the rest to an after-market company. In fact, since I'll probably be buying another automatic, I can't even get the track-pack with an automatic (for some cosmic unknown reason), so Ford's losing out on $1500!!! WTF? FORD! Here's money! Take it! Not a good way to keep up the profit margin.

Here's another brain scratcher:

According the build site, despite the stock offerings of TWO styles of 19" wheels, if you go with the track-pack, you only get the one option. Huh? Does this make sense to anyone else? How the fk does the track-pack interfere with the aesthetic appearance options of an identical size wheel? Is this bullshyt or does it just look and smell like it?

I'm with ya Arrow. Also seems ridiculous that you have to buy a Premium in order to get the TP.

The deal breaker on the TP for me was no glass roof. It's only 28 pounds heavier...that's just two weiner dogs!

But as you say, Ford would've been $1500 richer if I could have had the TP/glass roof.

They save money on the spoiler.
They only lose a tiny portion of the $1500 (the profit on the option).
They probably are offering the cheaper 19" wheel (also saving money).
You can buy a spoiler at the dealership if you really want the useless thing.

For reals! It makes no sense why Ford couldn't offer the Track Pack option across the board for GT coupes. Going with the Premium trim level GT with the attendant options already adds weight, so why not just make it available to those who want the glass roof?
FWIW, a basic Deluxe GT with the Track Pack option would have been akin to the Fox 5.0 LX and the SN95 GTS cars. Go fast with less flash and for less cash, what buyer wouldn't want that?

I agree, some packages don't make sense. A sunroof on the Escape only comes with the premium sound package, but upgrade to the navigation system and you can't have a sunroof. I want all three!

why do so many people car about the roof yes its nice but its way expensive for a purely cosmetic add on, I would much rather have the performance in a car like this, not ooooo look at the sky!, whos gonna have time when I'm gonna be looking at the white lines blur!

Wow, Ford has really upset a lot of people about what you can and can't get with the TrackPack option. They should probably just stop offering the TrackPack and avoid the headaches that go along with trying to please all of the people all of the time.

That's because it's NOT a 2010 Camaro. If you make enough noise and Ford listens and makes a good car even better, why not?

The track pack itself is a bargain at 1500 and some change. I just would like to have a base stang with the track pack and screw all the electronics, spoilers, and comfort items. Since it cant be had on a regular GT its going to cost me 4500. I have to agree there are some strange packages and I know you cant please everybody. What I want is a LX Mustang with no show and all go without the big price tag.

I thought I read on here that someone ordered a new 2010 w/Track Pack and spoiler came with it since the dealer didn't note the spoiler is supposed to be deleted.

Basically, they don't want people ordering the "Track-oriented" package for the car, and then loading it up with a bunch of stuff that makes it slower and less "focused". They want the track-pack cars to be the most capable cars... and if someone buys the "Track Pack", plus all the scoops, and the useless spoiler, and the Mach 1000, and the [probably] heavier 19's, and the glass roof... you very well may end up with a car that's slower than a lightly-optioned non-Track Pack GT.

I'm sure that's part of the reason you can't buy automatic Cobras, either... which is another case where I say, "Good for Ford."

No offense to the guys who WANT both the TP and the accessories, but I like that Ford has said basically, "If we're going to market this as a track-oriented package, then that IS going to be it's focus."

You *can* get the track pack on the deluxe, if that's what you're getting at.

has anyone seen one at a dealer yet? I am debating whether to go and order or wait until they hit dealer lots. I'm in Southern California and I'm surprised none of my local dealers have a single one.

But then, what would we have to complain about?

Why don't you guys thank FoMoCo for offering this option, instead of bashing them for everything you "cant' have." Could be worse.... Could be in Cow-maro's.

I went down to the Ford dealer in my small town, just looking around. They had 4 2010 GT's, all of them had the Track Pack option.
