tire size question

lookin to get some blizzaks for my rear rims. Using my stock 18" GT rims for the winter.

i dont really understand tire sizes to well.

would a 235/45r 18 fit the rim or does it have to be a 235/50r 18?

found a good deal for blizzaks on ebay. but only come in the 45r

If you are putting winter tires on your car I recommend you buy 4 of them. I presume you have summer tires on the front and they would be useless in the snow and ice. The tires should fit just fine.

Agreed - any snow tire buying guide you read says buy all four. Only doing two is short-sighted and foolish.

When looking at tire size specifications they are always read in the same order, left to right. Take for instance a 235/50/18. Here 235 is the width of the tire, measured in millimeters. 50 is the aspect ratio, this tells you the height of your sidewall in relation to the width of the tire. 18 is the inner diameter, or rather, the appropriate exterior diameter of the wheel on which the tire is being mounted. If you need to visualize things like I do a great link to refer to is: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tir...0r18-285-40r18
