Tire Size Help

I am planning on getting some new wheels and tires. I finally found the wheels I am going to buy

http://www.americanmuscle.com/black-...8x10-0510.html

I will go staggered with a 18x9 Wheel in front and 18x10 in the rear.

Now I am lost in the world of tire sizes!!!

I was thinking of going with 295s in the back is all I really know at this point.

Was wondering if yall could help me out with this.

Also I my suspension is as follows
Steeda Sport Springs
Koni Yellows

if that matters.

Thanks

So in doing tons of research last night it looks like my best bet is to go with 285/40/18 for the rear. If they made a 295/40/18 that would be a good choice to.

What are my other options ? Does it make sense to go bigger?

PS I love the twisted roads but like drag racing as well....

I thought the same about black wheels, but now I'm considering AM's black Bullitts.

I'll bet the OP doesn't care what you like. I know I don't.

Clearly the use of the puking icon is more insulting that is necessary or for that matter kind. That said, the thread starter is kind of asking for opinions of his mustang source compadres.

I however am with you in that I do not understand why people just can't say "not my style but I hope you'll enjoy" and leave off the insulting additions. It's a mystery to me.

Wheels look good to me, I would personally go with wheels that were 19" or larger. I just like the look of the extra wheel, but that's just me.

Yeah maybe I should go with a bigger Wheel.
What kind of rims would y'all suggest. It's such a hard decision. I will take any help I can get even the punks who are rude.

Black wheels aren't my style either but just make sure to clean them often and they'll look slick to many. 295 rear and 255 front if you like staggered, could do up to 275 in front. 40 is a tall ride height in the back. I haven't calculated but I'd think 295/35/18 and 255/40/18 would be closer to one another in size - 295/40 would look like a dually to me.

I like the wheels you picked. Staggered is a great choice . Personally id def go with a 295 out back. Bigger is better lol.

AK, Id go with whatever is closer to your stock tire height. Im going with 285/40/ 18 in the rear with 255's upfront. . That's only a tad shorter tire than your stock height so your speedo and shift points should be fine( if you have an auto). Of course you can use your tuner to do any recalibration. I personally would prefer to go a Tad shorter than taller BC it will lower your gear ratio rather than raise it.

Actually he's right about the heights cuz you're doing 18s not 19s. Reconsider any 19s or anthracite wheels or you sticking with these?

Great looking wheels. But I would worry later that I should have gotten 19s or 20s. The sizes are: 9 inch wide, 255/40 front and 10 inch wide 285/35 rear (identical to Boss 302 specs). But you should definitely double and triple check with either a tire size calculator (find on the internet), or a good tire company (like Tire Rack, etc.) for the proper sizing, so you have clearance and the speedo stays accurate. Good luck, and please post pics of your new wheels when you get them!

Love the wheel choice. Post-install photos are mandatory.

I have a question please...my 2011 GT Premium has the 19" wheel option - but NOT the Brembo wheel. So my wheels are 19x8.5, with 245/45 19, front and rear. If I keep the factory wheels (which I love), what tire size can I safely move up to for a wider patch, and lower profile?

New Continental Extreme Contact DW 255/40 19 tires on my nickel wheels (2011 Mustang GT Premium). I thought the new size might have some negative issues (sidewall bulge, look small in wheel-well, vibration, speedometer, etc.). I'm happy to report that I have NONE of these issues. The tires look amazing on the nickel wheels (19 x 8.5), the steering response is quicker, and the feel is great. I'm very happy with my upgrade. Ford Country in Henderson Nevada was awesome, they price-matched the tires (Tire Rack), no shipping, mount & balance, and they recalibrated my speedometer and TPMS. Total price out the door was $1150. I highly recommend this tire size upgrade to anyone with nickel wheels (obviously not for cold and snow). And to be extra nice, Ford slapped on my Shelby GT 500 axle-back mufflers for free! The car is perfect now!

Thanks, D.E.D. Looks like we also have the same axle-back exhaust, too!
