Thinking of upping the boost next year.

I know that the stock coyotes are good to about 600hp anything over that you might want to start thinking of building the engine.

Does anyone know what needs to be done to be on the safe side if i want to push 700hp-750hp to the wheels?

I was thinking about getting this.

MMR 900HP Forged Shortblock for 2011-2014 5.0
Brand new Torque Plate Bored and Honed 2013 5.0 Block

New Boss 302 Forged Crankshaft

New MMR Forged H Beam Rods w/ARP bolts

New Manley Forged Piston in High or low compression for supercharger or turbo

Total Seal Piston Rings File fit to your application

Clevite Performance Rod and Main Bearings

Fully assembled, digitally balanced and inspected by 2 technicians

1 year warranty

You'll have to rebuild the engine if you want any kind of reliability with that kind of power. The 5.8L is safe as is only up to about 750RWHP, so the stock 5.0 will definitely suffer under that much load.

Uh thanks i got that. my question wasn't if i have to.

My question is what needs to be built up.

Russ, not satisfied with 500+whp already???

I think I asked this question as some point. But essentially, what I'll do is get a crate engine if I do that. Then obviously upgrade transmission and clutch. Don't forget the latter.

If I happen to pop my block I would go with MMR. As long as you run forged internals, sleeved cylinders, coated pistons and ARP fasteners, you should be good. Only downfall to MMR can be their turn time, but I thought they were gonna start keeping some short blocks on the shelf.

Just curious...seems like everyone keeps the same displacement with these Coyote engines. I rarely see any stroker builds or anything like that. Why is that?

She's out to her limits as designed...an old article that lacks the updates the engine has seen since it's debut but still a good read:

You can get a stroker Coyote. Prepare to write a big check.

Yeah I've seen that kit. Just wondering why I haven't seen anyone on here with it.

I think it is just cheaper to go forced induction. You can buy an aluminator and a supercharger and be making some serious horsepower for the same money.

Thanks for the link. I was not aware the engine had any growth left in it. I guess the old axiom money cures all problems is true after all!

That is going to be nasty. Beastly. Those engine specs you posted sound awesome.
I assume you're going to upgrade your transmission and rear end as well?

well its all a dream to be honest lol i'm more trying to figure out what it would cost to get me there. I have an auto trans, not to sure what would need to be done to it.

Yeah, I am sure it's going to cost a pretty penny. But, would it be a blast! lol
Even with that auto trans., I would still upgrade it's internals. The stock rear end and half shafts may not hold up to those hp and tq numbers either.
