thinking of selling 2014 mustang because of work...need advise!

I just learned i'll be out of the country for the next 10 months for work.

I just bought my 2014 mustang 1 month ago. it has 1,000 miles.

I paid about $24,000 after tax.

I spend $1,000 on brand new Brembo rims and tires.

$400 on front and rear speakers

$400 to install sirius

$800 for leather oem.

So im in the car $26,600.

Car has sync, tech packge fogs etc.

What can i sell this car for right now? Who ever buys id help them with the tax so i see some motivation. Car is parked in garage and is meticulously handled.

Im debating if i should sell as i wont be able to enjoy for the next year!

Here are pics to the car:

Price it out considering incentives and probably drop $2k off that price (assume x-plan pricing probably or invoice). Unless your company is giving a reimbursement for losses selling the car due to relocation it's probably not quite worth it unless you think you want a different car when you move back...

So a 2014 V6 premium X-Plan price is $25687 minus $2000 incentives. Before taxes of course pending what state you live in. Definitely give it a shot pricing where you want to start but just wanted to throw this out for perspective!!

You can only lose money selling a car after a year, never mind a month. I once took over making the lease payments for a friend who went overseas for a year. All unofficial and just a personal deal. Can you make a deal sort of like that with a friend/relative/co-worker, someone you trust? If not, letting a car sit for most of a year won't kill it, especially a new one (plenty of cars have been on lots longer than that lol). And speaking for myself, I would never buy the first year of *any* new model of car i.e. 2015 Mustang, if you wanted to get another Mustang as soon as you return.

As you can probably tell, I'd lean toward storing it as best as possible, but definitely in a garage, which is likely even more inconvenient...

Why not?

Lots of people do.

If not I'd just store it and it'll be there when you get home.

You will take a big hit trying to sell it, especially being time constrained.

I was in Europe (Germany) and I took my '04 GT with me but then again it depends on if you have to pay for shipping or not.

When I moved overseas for my company several years back they would not cover the costs of shipping a car. So I understand the desire to sell. Having someone take over payments for a year is reasonable it seems if you can find someone. Could be a tough deal to sell, but that would probably be my preference over selling

You guys realize it costs a **** ton to ship a car right? Anyway, 24k seems reasonable.

Find someone with an open garage spot and pay them $50 a month to store it until you get back.

So options are:
Paying someone to store it...
Losing money by selling it...
or
Spending money to ship it...

Any idea what the bottom line difference is between these three scenarios?
Would you be buying another car there, then selling it when you return back to the US?
That would need to be included in total loss or profits here.

It's a beautiful car though and I'd hate to see you HAVE to get rid of it and even worse, take a loss.

Selling it will definitely result in a big loss. With all the rebates etc and lower interest rates on new ones most people will buy new. Bite the bullet and take it with you, see the country and enjoy it. Either way it's a loss so you might as well get some pleasure out of it.

Maybe sell it there for a nice profit? You never know.

If you sell it, when you get back the '15s will be out. Then if you like the 15s you could get one of those or a '14 GT loaded at a really good price
