is there a reason why GT500 is running 19s front and 20s rear?

is there a reason why GT500 is running 19s front and 20s rear?
i think it looks good, but why not run 20s or 19s all around? seems like the rear is sitting a little to high, it wasn't to be lowered on the rear it seems.
cuz i wanted to maybe run the GT500 wheels on my 5.0 when i get it, but I'm not sure if i want to get 19s or 20s all around, just not sure if i like the 19s and 20s combo.
i would lower the rear a bit anyways, so it might look good with 19s all around, but if i do 20s all around the front wheels might look to big?

2 reasons why rears are larger, usually wider too.
1. so you have more traction as a RWD vehicle
2. with so much HP when you accelerate the front will lift up, so u can still have view out the front

I'm sure the engineers found while fine tuning the suspension that the combo gave the best handling and traction.
Maybe they liked the sidewall compliance characteristics of the 19's better on the front over a shorter, stiffer sidewall on a like diameter 20.

I know that a 20 on the rear can clear more suspension pieces and be wider than a 19.
Sometimes I think that a wide 19 with tire still might hit the shock dust boot but a 20 buys a few extra mm as the larger circumference puts it further up and away.
I think. But that might not explain why Ford did it because they still haven't put a really wide tire on there yet.

He answers the question indirectly- saying the car can't turn with bigger fronts. I think they just got lazy... He says to look at competitors in this HP/track class- I did, the cars have big rears and compatible fronts...
IDK what he's talking about. No biggie tho.

2012 Porsche 911 had 235 fronts/265 rears

2012 Ferrari 458 spider 235 fronts/295 rears

2012 Mercedes sls Amg 265/295's

Svt is trying to shed the gt500's reputation as a straighline/drag car and try and make it a better handling well rounded sports car (which is tough). To the OP I am not sure what the 19 front and 20 rear does. I just added the svtpp wheels to my boss. Will let you know if it feels different.

A lot of the current cars considered to be the top handling cars have comparable tire sizes

Respectively, you can't compare mid mount/rear engine to a front.
Front Engine, High HP, seen on track and drag, and noted for handling:
Viper ACR
Fronts: 295/30/18
Rears: 345/30/19
SL AMG Black Series
Fronts: 265/35/19
Rears: 325/30/20
ZR1
Fronts: 285/30/19
Rears: 335/25/20
ZL1
Fronts: 285/35/20
Rears: 305/35/2-
All I'm saying is they increase HP solid, but stick with a tire that barely contained 550hp. And opt out for launch control rather than "engineer" new capabilities for tire ratios.
