Tell Me I Don't Need a 2011...
...because it's getting harder to tell myself that!
In many ways I prefer the styling of the 2007 I currently have (no unpainted trim), but the 2011 has the HIDs, Brembos, better interior, and GOBS OF POWER!!!
We also have a significant amount of coin invested in the performance, appearance, and handling of our current ride, so I am at an impasse...
412 hp...is it worth it?

If I weren't do damned old, I probably would have waited. But you get to a point when you figure you'd better do what you want now because tomorrow might be too late. If I'm still around, I'll probably be ready for another new one when the 50 anniversity model arrives.

Probably not the best place to ask this though, as we'll probably mostly tell you to get the 2011! It's not overly critical for you though I expect and if you like the 2007 well enough there remains the option of waiting for a 50th Anniversary 2014 and saving money for it and the rumored complete body style redesign.
That was initially my plan as well, but I decided I couldn't wait that long, and the 5.0 coming out again as just too good to pass up. Of course, for me I was coming from a 2004 Mustang V6, not a 2007 Mustang GT, so I had a lot more to gain from it, a lot more to tempt me.

I like the rear of the 05 to 09 better to be honest but the 5 liter would put me over the top. Get one. These suckers are hot. If I were rich I would already have one. This is one of those cars you can tell your grandchildren about. Ford really stoked up the fire this time. They are really on their game these days and I will support them to almost no end. Heck, I am thinking of Fiesta for a DD.

Rather, I'm at the point where I am not happy with what I currently have. So looking at the new Mustang which significantly improves on three distinct areas where I feel my 2007 is lacking (interior quality, road noise, and horsepower/torque), it's hard to not consider just trading.
Just not sure. Keep regaling me with advice, I will check in later tonight

You don't need a 2011. There, I said it. Sounds like you want one though, but I don't know what your financial situation is like. If you really want a new one and it won't stress you financially, why not go for it, life is short, enjoy it while you can.
My '08 GT will be paid off this week, exactly two years after I brought it home. I've been very tempted by a 2011 GT, but I'd take a large hit on depreciation, and while I could afford the upgrade, my wife and I are trying to get our house paid off early, and it will be nice to live without a car payment for awhile. A few modifications will help bridge the gap for me between the performance/handling levels of my '08 and a new '11. If the rumored 2012 Boss arrives though, and isn't priced too unreasonably, I may give in to temptation and upgrade.

1.) Wait for 0%. It will save you thousands of dollars!
or
2.) Wait for the Next Gen Stang.
I own a 2008 GT, that I am very pleased with. The only thing I wish it had was a new 5.0L under the hood. I don't like the 2011 Stang enough to blow thousands of extra dollars. Especially with the Next Gen around the corner.

Just wait a bit longer. The 5.0 isn't going anywhere and it seems like you have a fun vehicle to drive in the meantime. Enjoy what you have for a bit longer. Trust me, it could be a lot worse. You could be in a high mileage Honda and can't figure out whither to sell now or wait and let the wheels fall off at 400K or so...oh wait, that's me!
If you want one and can live lavishly, then hey, enjoy! Otherwise, if I were you I'd stick with what you've got and wait for the great advancements in Mustang-dom.
I'd like to take a GAU-17 to my Honda but it still runs and it's looking worse and worse for my car future so I guess I gotta keep the darn thing.

Unless you can get your money out of it,keep the '07. It looks like you have a lot of cash tied up in modifications, and the car is only four years old. You'd be better off putting a supercharger on the '07.
