Taking my car to Vortech today!
So by some act of the gods i am going to be taking my car to Vortech for R&D today. They said I can get the car back on the 23rd and itll be driveable then I take it back on January 3rd for about 2 more weeks. Then I get a complete system and install for really cheap

ya i asked like what happens if the motor is blown and he was confident saying that this is the tune thatll go out with every kit so they make sure its conservative which is exactly what I was gunna tell him. They arent gunna try to get every little gain out of it that they can.

they are using my car to perfect the tuning. i was ready to buy but was told by the place I was gunna order from that the parts are all done but the tuning is not so id have to wait for tuning to be done before itd actually ship.
one cool thing about taking the car was they gave me a tour of the whole facility. its a awesome place to work i bet. I was amazed the whole time.
and! they are putting the 20th anniversary kit on. He even said itd be a really low serial number since they saved a few for their cars and my car is getting one of those systems. cant wait to see what number I get

Vortech is extremely conservative with their tunes so as to keep them warranty & smog friendly. When I installed my V2 back in 2008 I took it to our local dyno guru who was able to safely find 60 more rwhp vs the Vortech supplied ultra conservative tune.

ya, i told him i was confident that they wouldnt blow the motor but....what if??? lol and he just said "we'll replace it, but we are positive the motor wont be blown." he also said theres a race team on the east coast thats running 800 hp on the stock bottom end and it still hasnt blown yet. very impressive.

ya, when this deal came up I couldnt resist, originally I was gunna wait a while for a s/c but I couldnt resist.
didnt i say something like that before the GTR dyno day? lol "I need to start modding so I can keep up with zilla"

Update from Vortech today
Things are coming along great! We’ve now got a stable tune making 600-625 hp at the flywheel (should be 525-535 hp at the wheels on a Dynojet) with a safe afr and timing level on our Paxton car. We should be able to do about the same with the Vortech kit.
BTW, I think you’re getting serial number 010 (out of 100) so it’s a nice low number

I don't know. There's a perception that the clutches in these cars are weak and problematic; of course, those experiencing issues with their clutches are going to be far more vocal than those whose clutches are working fine. Lethal Performance's car, first fitted with Whipple / Ford Racing's 2.3L supercharger and now Whipple's 2.9L supercharger have run several passes down the 'strip -- 10-second passes at that -- and I'm pretty sure they're running on a stock clutch. There are a couple other guys who are supercharged over on Modularfords' forums that are running stock clutches with no problems, too. I guess it all comes down to luck.
