Here's a link to a walk thru I posted on another site. The instructions I downloaded from Ford did not match what I needed to do to make it load. As you can see from the screen shots this is for the base radio installed in a BOSS 302.

Thanks for those directions, I personally have successfully completed the syncstatuschecker on my system and when I installed three different copies of the update over the last few months which all failed within a minute.

 

Finally, my car was at the stealer for annual maintenance, so I decided to pay them CA $35 (US $27) to have the 4.4 update installed properly.

 

Where in the dealership do you go to have them update it? I will gladly pay $27 for them to do it for me. I cannot get mine to update either!

 

Every stealership should have a technician specialized in electonics able to do the update.

 

I've been having all the same issues trying to update Gen. 1 to 4.4 as everyone else here. For what it is worth, having been trying a few things and following info on many sites, I found that yesterday the update files on my Ford support site changed. There were file naming issues and missing files in two previous versions that I had downloaded. Long and short of it is that yesterday I downloaded again to compare files and things had changed. So, I tired the install and well, it worked. I haven't done a lot of testing to see what has changed or has broken but thought I'd post up that Ford has changed something in the available download, at least for me. No notification that anything had changed. In fact the support site still indicated that I had recently downloaded the file and wanted me to confirm install. Go figure.

 

Redownload the update.. it should work now.. I really wish ford would have reached out and let us know instead of having to find out ourselves...

 

Thats a shame, I paid 35$ Can last week to have the 4.4 install done by the stealer. Not much I can do now except waiting for 4.6 update.

 

This whole update process is crap.

 

The current update process is a PITA although I got it done on the 3rd or 4th attempt. Is there any possibility that Ford will release a major update addressing the major problems, much like the Windows 10 upgrade (yeah, I know, roll with me on this) or are we in a Windows XP update situation ("Sayonara, Buddy!")?

 

I cannot stand Ford's website and this whole process. They make it very difficult in my opinion.

Can anyone email me the new update? On the second page of the "if your download has not automatically started click here to manual start it" button will not work. Whenever I click it nothing happens.

I suggest what GTvert90 posted. Clear the history, cookies, and cache from the browser and re-download the update. Let me know how it goes!

So I remember when 4.4 was pulled a little while back. Just checked the site again to see if 4.6 was up, and noticed that the download did work. HOWEVER, there is no version number in the downloaded file, and the website says "Posted Dec. 18, 2015" which would suggest that this is still 4.4.

So question is, has 4.6 been released and the site text just not been updated, or has 4.4 been re-released for some crazy reason? The downloaded file is "DR3T-14D544-AF.zip"

The 4.6 update has been released for certain vehicles. Each update is vehicle specific so keep checking your account for the availability!
