Swap 19" nickel painted wheels for Brembo 19"??
Am looking to replace the nickel painted 19" wheels with something more subdued. Have been unable to find anything I like in 19" that is similar to the Brembo wheels, which I think would look great on the car...
According to the data at Tire Rack, the current 245-45s will fit up to 9 inch wheel width, which I believe is the Brembo wheel width....
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....akes&tab=Specs
Nickel Painted wheels
19" dia, 8.5" wide
245-45-R19, nominal width 8.5 (rim width min 7.5, max 9.0)
Brembo wheels
19" dia, 9" wide
Are there any "issues" with pairing the current tires with the Brembo wheels?
TIA!![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)

Thanks!
Looked at them, and think they'd look good, but prefer the look of the Brembos with the Sterling Gray.. Saw one on the lot and they really turned my head.
From the Pics thread: stock (my car), Brembo and GT/CS... IMO the Brembos really complement the colors and lines of the car ..

Dunno if I'd make the best use of Brembos in any event, as I don't intend to do any serious track time with it.. DD plus weekend trips and maybe an autocross every six months, but sure do think the wheels look good

I would do this swap in a heartbeat. But you are probably going to have a hard time finding someone to do the swap, the 19's you have will not fit on a Brembo car
At least not without running a 3/4" spacer up front to clear the Brembo caliper.

Will likely end up buying the Brembo wheels at the dealer and selling the stock rims on Craigs list or Ebay...

I love the nickel luster wheels. But Ford and there silly option structure won't allow you to order them on a 300A package car

Brembo wheels on stock GT - caliper replacement?
Dealer indicates that to put the Brembo wheels on my stock GT that the calipers have to be replaced... Anyone see why that would be necessary?
Seems that the stock rotor/caliper assembly would be SMALLER than the Brembos, and that every point on the stock caliper would fit INSIDE the envelope of the Brembos, and that putting larger interior-volume wheels would provide MORE caliper clearance....
Or am I missing something like different lateral location of the rotor/caliper assembly on the axle that would put the stock caliper outside the Brembo size envelope?

Yep, Im digging the Brembos big time on Sterling Grey. It's either gonna be those or TSW/Forgestar gunmetal for me. Nickel just isn't floating my boat. Although I have seen them on Kona and they look awesome. Nice on black too.

Found the thread... thanks
... also, the dealer agreed that the calipers are good as is... THEN told me that they want $3400 for the wheels alone... Ouch! Since the entire package was $1700 installed at the factory - what part of that doesn't make sense?? Off to plan B...

1) Your dealer is a jacka$s. They should have known right off that Brembo wheels would fit non-brembo cars.
2) Piece-parts bought later always cost a lot more than when they're bought as a factory-installed item. But going back to #1 above your dealer is a jack-a$$ for gouging that much. Ridiculous. I think your best bet is to find them as lightly-used take-offs on eBay or the like.

Like I said I'll be selling mine when I pick up my car if you are willing to wait. Wheels and tires will probably have less than 100 miles on it before I swap out the stock for new ones. Found some 18x9/10 that will fit over the Brembo brakes.

Just buy the Black Track Pack (Brembo) wheel from Ford Racing Parts at LateModelRestoration.com for $185 ea, and then have them powder coated to the color of your liking.
