Falken tires tests their new RT615R tires on a 2011 Mustang GT and a 370Z.

Mustang is a half second a lap faster than the Z.

Also says the Mustang is faster on the 18" Falkens than the OEM Pirelli 19's that came with the Brembo package that the car was equipped with.

This test can't be true. A 4 seater Mustang faster on a road corse with a stick rear-end beating a 2 seater 370Z with a I.R.S.......It just can't be true....It can't.

I would bet that a V6 Performance Package would even be ******* the Z around the track.

 

The Z they used is a vert...wish they would have done it against a coupe.

Wish they would have used a coupe. But good to see the Mustang on a track take out another decently worthy opponent.

 

Ehhh... i highly doubt that. I think people like to convienently forget that a vert was tested. The hard top handles better and is 200 or so lbs lighter than the vert.

The hard top z is a good bit lighter than the V6 stang, makes more power, and puts up better numbers in every single handling metric out there.

that said i am sure we will get a proper comparison eventually. It's almost impossible not to compare the Z to the 5.0 based on price alone. Or comparing the Z to the V6 based the good ole spec sheet. 300+hp for both, V6 for both, RWD for both, ~3230lbs to ~3450lbs.
