Hi,
I have a 2011 GT six-speed I bought new that has just 21,000 miles on it (only driven in summers).

The car is in great shape, but lately I've noticed a strange noise when I go over 3,000 RPM. If I let the engine rev, especially if I'm in third or fourth gear, I hear this clicking noise coming from the engine. It's hard to describe, and not too loud, but noticeable. Performance isn't affected.

I took it to my dealer (the one I bought the car from 10 years ago), and they checked things out and told me the sound is normal in a 5.0. They even called Ford to make sure.

Should I just ignore the noise and not worry? Anyone else have this issue?

hard to say without hearing it . . . if you could post a video with sound, that might help
(I believe you need to post the video elsewhere like Youtube, then post the link here)

or, I'm guessing it might be the "BBQ tick" -- try searching on here for "BBQ tick" and see if the noise described in those threads sounds familiar

I think the tick I'm hearing is similar to what others reported in other threads. It does seem to be most noticeable on very hot days, so maybe it's A/C related. I'll try driving without A/C and see if I notice.
