Strange clicking sound from passenger seat

I have noticed occasionally that when someone is in the passenger seat there will be an intermittent clicking sound when accelerating or decelerating. The best I can describe it is it sounds somewhat like tapping your fingernail on plastic. Very bizarre. Anyone have a similar experience or know what causes this?

I noticed on mine that when someone isn't in the passenger seat I get a tapping noise when hitting choppy bumps.

I can duplicate it by thumping my hand on the seat. I've narrowed it down to a wiring harness under the seat that is not secured very well and flaps on the seat at times. I plan on taking a plastic zip tie or some electrical tape and cinching it tighter.

Sounds to me like the ejection mechanism is misfiring.

Hey DrDisney,

It’s been a while! Have you addressed this with your Ford Dealer yet?

Deysha,No, because it just went out of warranty. I have the extended warranty but this wouldn't be covered. Hopefully I can figure it out. It is probably some wiring under seat that is tapping against something.

Thanks for checking in.

It's no problem, DrDisney. Keep me posted.
