Ok so I will probably get flamed for this but......

Has anybody or does anybody know how to take the stock shifter apart? I hate the soft spring on the reverse lockout. I am wanting to know if anybody has put a stiffer spring in it.
I know it has to come apart....

If you watch the MGW install video, you'll get all the basics. Because the MGW replaces the entire shifter, you have to take the entire shifter apart to get all of it out.

 

I have the shifter out of the car. I am trying to figure out how to get the actual shifter body apart. There is a spring inside that allow the shifter to be pushed down and put in reverse. I am wanting to put a stiffer spring in its place.
