How long will SG be back for ordering?

According to a fellow TMS member (forget who) it is back in production due to Japan and one of the reds not being available.

When will SG orders end? I needa hop on this one!

 

I don't think anyone knows that for sure. It is available at least through the end of the model year. If it mimics last year that means you can order through about the first or second week of November but you risk getting bumped to 2013 if you wait that long.

Great color but a shame that they aren't allowing it to be ordered with the red interior on the 401A package. That's the perfect interior for that color IMO.

 

im in the same boat. i have a few more months till my f150 is paid off then i want to order a sonic blue. hopefully they hold out and keep the same colors at least til the end of the model year.

Sterling Grey is supposed to be in production starting in September. YOu may be able to order shortly... you need to check with your new car manager to see when they will open up ordering.

Re 2012 Model Year... remember, the MY started in February, so 2012 will be an 18 month model year, so build out will be sometime in mid-late 2012. Lots of time to order still.

can i order a car within a month or two ( off the topic of sterling grey now) and it will be delivered 8 weeks later? u said it will be built mid-late 2012, even tho others already have their 2012s....?

The 2012 MY started early to roll the Boss out. It will run till mid-late 2012. Then the 2013 MY will begin. The Sonic Blue/Sterling Gray vehicles won't start being built till August or so. If you want one of those, you can maybe order it now but it depends on your dealer. Now if you don't care about those colors and just want to order one in general, due to demand and built time, it usually takes 8 weeks after you place your order.

I have a 2006 Vista Blue GT but was originally going to get a Sonic Blue GT till I was unable to get a 2005. So now I'm seriously contemplating getting a 2012 Sonic Blue GT. I just wonder if Sonic Blue/Sterling Gray will carry over till 2013 MY or if this is truly a limited time option!

Do we know for sure that 2012 is going to be a long MY? The MY was the same in 2011 to get the new engines out and at that time everyone thought 2011 was going to be a long MY.

 

From what I've heard it will be. 2013 MY will be a minor refresh year too, so I believe that won't be ready to roll out in early 2012 to mimic the 2012 MY early start. Once they start showing the refresh at auto shows, then I'd start to worry about it coming "soon".

Question,

The illuminated door sills option.... i thought it was standard on a premium???

 

They said the same thing about 2011 MY and that didn't happen.

 

Illuminated sills are std eqpt on the premium, at least the V8 premium.

 

I think it was an option in 2010 but is standard on 2011+ premium cars, both engine varieties.

 

Any chance that Lava Red interior will be offered with the Sterling Grey? That would be my pick.

I have one on order in that combo but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't get built that way.
