Steering Wheel

Has anyone figured out what to do about the paint coming off the buttons on the steering wheel.

Wear gloves or replace them as needed! Several folks have had them replaced under warranty, to my surprise.

Are the replacement buttons better?

Not that I have the right year model, but it's odd to me that the steering wheel buttons on Awesome aren't a problem. Original stock too. But the radio? Those buttons on the Shaker 500 are HORRID.

Just an oddity I wanted to commiserate with y'all on.

/Totally have another Shaker 500 head unit, perfect buttons. Will be clearcoating them with Duplicolor clear wheel coating, that stuff is *tough*... hopefully it'll help them last longer.
//What I need to know how to do is strip and repaint the old buttons... that'd be a cool trick.

I haven't had to replace them yet, but I believe Overboost is one of the folks that did.

I touch them up with a black sharpie marker, as my warranty has expired.

I replaced mine under warranty and have had no subsequent issues. However I suspect the future will require futher attention.

Clear coat as suggested, or cover with clear bra.
