I have to make a choice sooner than later in regards to wheels and tires. I looked at RTR's and like the looks of them, but a lot of people don't like the offset of 33mm. I found similar SVE wheels online which are almost identical with 35mm offset, but not sure if it really makes a big difference.

So I want to do something different and narrows my choices to the Steeda Spyder wheels and the FRPP Black Track wheels. Steeda would be 20" staggered with 275's front and 315's rear. FRPP would be 19" and 275's all around.

Price difference is about $400. Which route would you go???

 

Threads like this disappoint me. I wish more mustang owners today, would make a mustang that they like and not worry what others don't like. It's your mustang brother, make it yours and not someone else's opinion.

 

I'm actually making it my own and already have, but would like some constructive pros and cons, before making this $ 2000+ investment. I'm looking for people who may have upgraded to 20" rims and see how it affected the cars performance... Nothing more, nothing less. Sorry that I disappoint you with my thread.

If you go with the FRPPs, change out those weak sauce center caps for any of the stock pony/tri-bar ones

 

I'm wondering the same thing- pro's and con's of staggered

i really like the SVE so i might go that route if staggered is not recommended for track or autox

i have the brembos now so im not really a fan of the black brembos (FRPP)

i think i rather have a bigger tire in the rear than 275

 

I wouldn't want to go to 20" myself, but if I did, the Steeda Spyders would be my choice. They are beautiful.

 

Since you are asking for our opinions here goes:

The Steeda spyder wheels are uber ugly in my eyes. The FRPP wheels while inexpensive are extremely heavy. Also while you can fit a 275 on a 9" rim safely, it won't be optimum. The 9" rim is the minimum for a 275/40/19, when optimum is going to be 9.5"-10".

I would consider a set of Forgestars for the car, the F14's are extremely light and are approaching the strength of a forged wheel. They can be had in a multitude of offsets. I would do a 19x9.5 front ET45 with a 19X10 ET40 I believe, could be wrong on the offsets for the rear. You can even go as wide as a 11" rear wheel. Downside to this wheel is that they will run you about $1700 for just the wheels.

The RTR's a great looking wheel, just they are also extremely heavy and the ET33's stick out a tad too much.

I love the F14s. They are very similar to the 10th Anniversary Cobra wheels, but all black (see my avatar!).

I know its not a Mustang..but here is a pic on a E92 M3. I am going to do these wheels in 19X10 and 19X11 for my E92 M3.





These wheels are over 5lbs lighter per wheel and yet they are wider.

I think you could do similar sizing as an M3..19X10 and 19X11s. Im going with a 275/30/19 front and 295/30/19 rear, Mich PSSs. For a Mustang you would want to do a 275/35/19 front and 305/30/19 rear.

I like that hyper silver finish. There are a few members here who have these wheels...

 

The bimmer looks sweet. However on the mustang since the offset sucks there is not much concave on the rim.

I'm trying to find the best size tire for the cost. Common sizes are cheaper...looks like 305 is not bad. I'd like to do 19x9.5 front and 19x11 rear

They have deep concave for the Mustang...go to the website and the minimum rim width is going to be 9.5" though. They offer a huge range of offsets as well.

A good bang for the buck if you are going to run a 305 tire is the Conti DWs, although TireRack shows the 305 in perpertual back order since May 11. I'm running Nitto Invos right now and they turned out to be a pretty good tire for the money and they make a 275/35/19 and 305/30/19.

That car is stunning...I like hypersilver as with black wheels you really can't see the unless they are gloss. I will be running 19X10 front and 19X11 rear. I will be running a 275/30/19 front and 295/30/19 rear.

I am considering just widening a rear BMW ZCP wheel to 11" and just running the BMW OEM ZCP wheel.

My ZCP e92 with ZCP wheels..currently 19X9 and 19X10 OEM..want to run a rear 19X10 up front (fits no issues) and a widened rear wheel to 11". The F14 Forgestars keep with the OEMs look of a mesh wheel.
