Spoiler Question

I have the GT/CS rear spoiler on my car and want to replace it with the GT500 style spoiler, either factory or 3dcarbon. My question is does anyone know for certain if it will cover the holes in my trunk from the GT/CS. I saw that some people got them for Christmas, if you could post pics of the mounting points on the spoiler that would be great.

From what I have heard, no it will not cover the holes.

The pedastal spoiler on your CS uses 8 mounting holes, whereas the rest of the spoilers use 4 mounting holes or 6.

I am not a big fan of the wing on the GT/CS, and wanted to replace it with a regular GT spoiler. No go...the GT/CS has two extra holes that the GT500 spoiler and GT spoiler will not cover. I am considering taking the wing off and just not replacing it.

The stock GT and GT500 spoilers use four holes while the LS rear spoiler uses eight. BTW the CS rear spoiler and front valance were designed for the Boss 302 as part of the original package and were used on the CS so they could justify the cost of making the pieces. Both pieces are fully functional at increasing downforce and are not for looks. The LS rear spoiler has slightly more downforce than the GT500 spoiler.

If you remove the LS rear spoiler why would you replace it with the 3D spoiler and not use the OEM spoiler with the functional Gurney flap? IMO a a better option is the TruCarbon CF spoiler which uses the factory Gurney flap.

What model is "LS"? I am assuming you mean "CS"?

I don't dislike the spoiler on my car. I actually like the way it looks. Thanks for the info on the tech behind it. I didn't know of it's origins or increased downforce. That being said, I really like the style of the GT500 spoiler. But I'm gonna leave it alone, now that I can tell people I have a purpose driven spolier! Thanks. BTW Happy New Year everyone!
