I have mine set on 7, and I definitely notice a difference is volume speedy up and slowing down.

It's not enough to be noticed in my '13 either. I have the Sony factory radio in my F-150, and it's the same. No difference.

What I have found is the difference is more noticeable if you set the initial volume when stopped....that gives you the lower setting (as long as it is not blasting). Then as you drive, the volume increases to the 0-7 level you have chosen. All of my past ones with it plus my 08 have worked great....just a pain to get set "just right".

That's good to know! Thanks man.

As for Saturday, I'm not sure. Tbd. Might have other errands to run. Is weather gonna be good? Are you going?

Auto lock is for locking above 15 mph (I believe that's the speed) and the unlock is when you put it in park or turn the engine off.

Partly sunny and 80 according to KCCI. We should be up there, I have a wedding to be at in the afternoon, so I'm not getting crazy Friday night.

The only difference between the '11 and the '14 is the '11 has the shaker system, while the '14 is a base model. Is there just no compensation on the base model?

I searched on here, but I couldn't find any other threads that covered this.
Hi SeaFoam,

If you don’t feel this is normal, you should have your dealer check it out. Let me know if you bring it in.

Also what does auto unlock and auto lock do?

**too lazy to read owners manual crew checking in**
Here’s the info in your owner's manual as others have mentioned:

The Speed Compensated Volume adjusts the volume to compensate for
speed and wind noise. You can set the system between off and +7.

Autolock (If Equipped)
The autolock feature will automatically lock all the doors when:
• all the doors are closed,
• the ignition on,
• you shift into any gear putting the vehicle in motion, (for manual
transmission, the parking brake should not be engaged) and
• the vehicle attains a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h).
The autolock feature repeats when:
• any door is opened then closed while the ignition is on and the vehicle
speed is 9 mph (15 km/h) or lower, and
• the vehicle attains a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h).

Autounlock (If Equipped)
The autounlock feature will unlock all the doors when:
• the ignition is on, all the doors are closed, and the vehicle has been in
motion at a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h);
• the vehicle has then come to a stop and the ignition is switched off or
to accessory; and
• the driver door is opened within 10 minutes of the ignition being
switched off or to accessory.

Note: The doors will not autounlock if the vehicle has been
electronically locked before the driver door is opened.

Enabling or Disabling Autolock and Autounlock
Note: The autolock and autounlock features can be activated or
deactivated independently of each other:
• through your authorized dealer
• by using the information display.
Before following the activation or deactivation procedures, make sure
that the active anti-theft system is not armed, the ignition is off, and all
vehicle doors are closed.

I hope this helps.

Deysha

LOL...so true. I hardly ever listen to the radio or connect my iPod compared to previous cars. I just love listening to the engine and exhaust.

This is exactly right. It's speed compensated volume - the idea is to make the volume seem the same despite the increased background noise at higher speed. You really shouldn't notice the volume changing but you also shouldn't have to manually increase the volume at higher speed. It works much better than GM's version which has a sharp change of volume at 45mph. I only wish it had separate settings for top up versus top down to compensate for the extra noise when driving with the top down.

I got there a little late, ended up surrounded by a Camaro, Noble and a 458 Italia. Who coincidentally ran his mouth to a turbo Cobra running slicks - that made him look like he was standing still.

I'm going to try to make it in July, haven't gotten my schedule yet though.
