I agree. Aren't the center caps old style too?

And I never looked at the 401A door panels up close...I wonder what they are.

The pony looks awesome, but the orange peel in the paint does not. Why can't anyone put a decent paint job on a car?

I think it looks great - very old school throwback. To each their own...

They need to do better paint on the Black cars- that black does look "orange-peelish"

I'd like it if they kept with the new style all around!

It's not just Black- black actually looks better than some others because it is so reflective. Dark reds look awful, that's why we didn't get the dark cinnamon color on our Flex. Just look at them in bright sun at an angle.

I was watching a Hyundai Genesis commercial and it's driving through a city at night (maybe Vegas, had a lot of neon lights), and the trunk and rear decklid is just absolutely RIDDLED with orange peel refractions. You'd think at least for a commercial they would put some time into making the car look better than it does in person.

Most if not all mainstream cars come with orange peel. It's not a Ford thing. It is the way they are sprayed in the factories. It can be corrected, but most people are not as **** as we are about it.

Question: if I get the car wet sanded, will it void the factory warranty on the paint?

Most of it can probably be buffed out without going to the extreme of wet sanding.

I have seen orange peel on every new car out there, high end like Mercedes included (though never seen something like a RR up close). I thought it was down to the EPA forcing the OEM's to use inferior water based paint.

I agree about the orange peel had it on my current car, and i fully expect it to show up on my new 5.0.

Hopefully something can be done about it.

I'm going to lose sleep thinking about a cure for cancer instead of worrying about orange peel in my paint. . . but have at it.

The only way to get rid of the orange peel is to sand it to wet sand it with 1500 grit then finish it off with 2000 grit paper. Then buff it out to a smooth finish. Believe me , it is a lot of work and you have to know how to do it properly, you wouldn't want to sand too long in the same spot and end up going through the clear . I spent about 30 hours on my '69 to get that smooth finish i wanted. If you don't want to have to go through all that PITA, get a detailling car shop to do it.
