Cool man. Do what you gotta do. However nothing wrong with getting a used door in my opinion since they are from salvage titled new cars. They have to paint and and prep anyway whether its new from ford or "used".

Very impressed. Geico just left my home after inspecting the car. They provided an estimate within $300 of the shop I went to this morning. They suggested we replace the door with an OEM shell. The adjuster said he did a quick search and found the salvage doors costing more than the Ford shell, so he went new. I just need another estimate to keep everybody in check and the car goes to the shop. This is going very quickly!

The $300 difference includes Geico putting in a $100 discount for the door. Not sure why that's on the quote, but it's there. The rest was related to the labor cost and the paint costs. The body shop can work that out with Geico.

Got the car back and it looks pretty good. The speakers didn't work and the driver window doesn't seal properly. I did fix the speakers and found the wire harness wasn't fully connected together. I still need to adjust the window up a bit. We had the Roush hood scoop painted at the same time, so it's a perfect match to the side of the car! I installed it yesterday. I did a full detail on it today. Waiting for the chance to wax the driver side and I'll feel good about it again. It still feels "unfinished" right now because of that.

But.....The pictures make the wheel gap look so large. Do I need to lower the car now? Gee, it never seems to be done!

Thanks for the comments guys.

The car looks great, but with all the Roush stuff on there, now the stock Brembo wheels look so basic lol. This is coming from someone who loves those wheels too. Time for an upgrade!

Car looks sharp.
How did the Roush hood scoop install go?
Does it sit flat on all 4 corners?

It sits as flat as it can when it has double sided tape under it. One benefit I have is I hear people complain that they can see the double sided tape through the windshield. I can too, but the tape was on the scoop when it got painted, so the edges of the tape match the color of the car. It looks really good, but does not rest flat on the hood itself. It's raised up the thickness of the tape.

Got it, thanks.
I read a few reviews where a small number of people reported that the rear corners actually lifted in hot weather but didn't in cooler temps.

I am interested in one of these scoops for my car and I guess I would want to cover the outer edge of the tape with a black permanent marker before install to hide it a little better (my car is black).

Looking good! Never good to see a stang in pain. Glad it was fixed quickly. Be nice when all the kinks are worked out. Best of luck.

I have a Roush with the hood scoop. Had the car for 2 1/3 years and have experienced no issues with the Roush hood scoop. Mine was installed by Roush so not sure what they do different than a user install. See no double sided tape on mine and sits snug to the hood.
