Some 5.0 news I heard today...
Some 5.0 rumor I heard today...
my automotive tech teacher says he's seen the twin turbo version of the 5.0 (he used to be an technician for toyota so how he saw it, idk). from what he told us in class, he says he saw the engine inside a mustang, and he says an executive at ford told him that the engine with the accessories and turbos, is so large under the hood, that to work on it all, u'd have to take it out of the car. i was skeptical on that part. then another student asked how much HP did it produce and my teacher said 408hp. now im thinking WHAT??? im assuming he's talking about the 5.0 based off the coyote so im thinking the standard 5.0 is expected to push 400hp, then the twin turbo version is at 408hp??
. i kinda dont believe that at all but then again he also said the engine wasnt in production form, he says it was in its concept stage. i'll ask tomorrow and try and get more info. anyways what do u guys think?

your teacher is full of crap.
i dunno, lol. we were sitting in class just talking about HP and fuel economy and he brought up how some cars today have 400hp and get 20+mpg. then a classmate brought up the SHO engine and its twin turbo technology, then my teacher brought up the twin turbo 5.0. i dont think i believe the 408hp thing, but maybe the fact how the engine fits in the mustang. he says it barely fits in the mustang, and he didnt say which bodystyle either but im assuming an S197.
EDIT: i was about to say only Boomer could clarify this but he already has lol

No guys, this one is for real--I saw it too. Don't ask me how, because I am a UPS delivery driver!!!! Looks like it makes AT LEAST 600hp. Trust me.
also if it barely fits in the engine bay to the point where you have to take the entire engine out to do anythign to it - then it's definately not going to be a production version that they sell. but more likely your teacher just makes up crap because he thinks your kids won't know any better, and will think he's the coolest shop teacher ever for knowing all these bs "secrets."
Hmmm so does TTC have job fairs with Ford involved? Wondering how such a small market would have any high up Ford secrets roaming around. Tulsa doesn't have jack besides the Mid-America Shelby meet...
not exactly, i had the chance to sign up and be a technician with toyota (in the near future) but passed it up. it was a field trip to a college in okmulgee. might would have done it if it were the blue oval.
In which OSU Okmulgee might have some legit connections in the industry as they have MET degrees there.

lol
