Snow stangs - let's see 'em

Post pics of your stang covered in snow or out in the snow.

here's a quick pic from yesterday morning after pulling into the parking ramp at work...love the snow packed grille, makes the car look even meaner.

Here's my Ruby Red '14 GT followed by my Sterling Grey '11 Brembo GT. It was actually snowing the day I bought my '11 back in Feb '11. Snow and summer only Pirellis don't mix well! My '14 has all-season Eagle F1 Assymetrics so it actually goes in the snow okay.

Btw, snowing here in Rockaway right now. Didn't see that coming.

lsxjunkie 1/4/15 06:47 PM

Blizzaks got us over the mountain down 9A from Fishkill to Westchester on Saturday. Interestingly, I discovered I had better traction in the powder, where the tires could really bite into the snow, than in the groove, where all the other cars had worn the snow into a slick dust on the asphalt.

18-24 inches forecast for tomorrow through wed morning. I think even with the Blizzaks I put on the 5.0 may have to stay parked in the garage for a few days.

I've heard the revised forecast for the upcoming Nor'easter might be up to 24" in some spots, probably the New England region.

But your area up diagonally through the Lehigh Valley and Poconos into NW NJ and beyond might get hit harder than first expected.

Let's hope they're wrong. Nor'easters can get very ugly.

Boston is supposed to be one of the hardest hit places over the next couple of days. We might see winds of 60 plus mph here with sustained winds around 40 mph. Hoping the power stays on throughout.

I'll have some great snow stang pics when it winds down...that is if I can even find the car in the snow drifts. Bring on the Spring!

Such a nice car, Kinda makes me sad :-( I'm not familiar with storage in the snow but what about a car cover?

VidPro 1/27/15 07:14 PM

It has a California car cover on it. My 2000 lived like this for 12 years with no issues. Not saying I would pass up a garage but I have no other choice.

I don't really. They're getting a normal Winnipeg-style winter...while out here we're way below normal for snowfall levels. Bunch of my buddies are into snowmobiles (I have one but it's been parked in a bush for years) and all the trails are closed up here. Just not enough snow. No point in the groomers going out.

VidPro 2/7/15 06:01 AM

We've had our share of brutal winters here in Boston. It's happened before it'll happen again and again. Hopefully when we sell this house I can find a house with a garage. My wife will just have to settle for the driveway when we do. :D

I have a double garage...the stang gets one side, the wife gets the other. My pickup lives outside....which is where I would live if my wife didn't get the garage. ;)

We're super low here too, but I'll gladly take it. We were still getting snow in may last year, so I think we deserve it. :heh:

Jeebus!!! Another two feet by Tuesday and another possible big storm this weekend coming up. I'll be lucky if I'm driving my car in May.

VidPro 2/10/15 09:10 AM

Wow! So after this latest round of snow, I decided to really shovel out the mustang. I've been periodically taking snow off the car but not as much as I thought I was. After getting to the last shovelful the front of the car jumped up about an inch! I have to clear it out because of the next possible two big storms coming into the Boston area.

That's sad. Salt looks so terrible on a black car. I'm doubly fortunate to be able to keep my black Mustang in the garage and have another car to use in this weather. Not every is so lucky to have 2 cars.

Whatever you do, NO CAR WASH!!!!!!! Love your wheels, by the way....even if they are disgustingly filthy!!!!

Thanks man. Yeah def no car wash. At least not an automatic one. I have a real nice manual wash by my house. Great pressure and hot water then spot free rinse. It takes 95% of that corrosive poison off then I spray the wheels with soapy water and wipe off with paper towels. Jet black spray and microfiber towels work great after that if you want. Will not scratch or swirl. Then when it's warm enough she gets a nice hand wash :nice:

VidPro 2/15/15 08:06 AM

My car is buried again. Blizzard here in Boston again. Was supposed to be 6-12 but it's turning out to be a blockbuster again. 18" or more. I'll take pics of my poor car. Next year I a garage.

I really feel bad for you folks in New England.

I realize it's kind of late now, but for those who don't have garages and whose Mustangs aren't DD's, have you considered a self storage facility during the winter? There's one in just about every town her in north Jersey and many have units that will accomodate a car.

VidPro 2/15/15 10:25 AM

Next year I'm going to definitely park the car in a storage unit. This year I didn't think I would have to worry about 100 inches of snow. My car is in my driveway parked with the cover so it's not so bad, it's not seeing salt. I've had it!

TripleBlack14 2/15/15 10:31 AM

If you know someone who wants to do the same, you might be able to get a double sized unit for two cars. It's probably cheaper than two single units and you can split the cost.

DarrenGT 2/15/15 10:49 AM

I really feel for you guys out east/midwest. I got plants poking through the soil already. However, mother nature can always change her mind and dump on us out here, so i'm not convinced it's early spring just yet

Yeah it really sucks right now. But it looks like it's going to warm up a little bit next week into the 30-40s. Hopefully the snow starts to melt.

That's a good idea. Thanks.

This is my biggest worry. My neighbor's house. I need to remove that icicle tomorrow. It's freaking me out. I have some shovels right below it on my car. 0_0

Attachment 189407

VidPro 2/16/15 09:21 AM

I put snow back on the car to protect it. First time I've had to do that. Screw you winter!!!

Coyote5-0 2/16/15 09:33 AM

Has the icicle fallen yet??

VidPro 2/16/15 09:43 AM

Can't quite get at it even stepping on snow. I'm worried about knocking it down and becoming the next Darwin Award winner. I'm confident now that my shovels and snow pack will protect the car. If it falls its going straight down. I was worried with no snow near the car once it fell it might topple toward car. The brutal cold is here for another week at least.

choate 2/16/15 12:35 PM

We got 6" last night. I know that's not that much but it's 6" more than I'd like. Not getting out today but I have to go to work tomorrow. So long clean car. Hello two tone salt and black mustang again. The thing that really ticks me off is it's going to be way below freezing for at least the next 10 days

Coyote5-0 2/17/15 07:18 AM

48 degrees and good chance of rain here in central Indiana on Sunday. I will have to get the Mustang out after the salt is all washed away!
