Smoking the tires... do you ever?

So when, where and how often do you blaze the hides?

When I was a teen aged hooligan, I rarely went a day without smoking the tires...(or at least making some noise). It was so **** satisfying...I didn't even care if nobody was around to see it...it wasn't a matter of showing off.

Years later, I finally got back into a RWD V8 car which was my 2009 GT. It would smoke the tires with the best of them...I especially loved leaving a pair of black strips from a roll in 2nd gear! But being a bit older and more paranoid about legality and machine abuse, I saved the smoke shows for a relatively few/rare occasions.

The 2011 GT, sadly, will not smoke the tires. The rubber is simply not in contact with the pavement long enough to build up heat! I'm afraid that any additional attempts will mean that I would be picking up pieces of universal joint and calling a tow truck.

Yea wheel hop is a B so no real smoke shows here either. I guess also I enjoy the acceleration more than sitting there burning the tires.

I have turned off my TC & punched it twice. I'm not a fan of that b/c it just wastes $ I do not have.

Only at the track. My insurance rates are low for a reason. I don't drive like a jackass on public roads.

Nope. Waste of good rubber and money.

Plus your "leader" would cut your ***** off because it adds pollution needlessly.

We get it, Charlie. You hate the Pres. You'll be happy when he's out of office. In 2016.

I have never smoked the tires on my car. Same reason as the rest, $$$ for tires that I'd rather put elsewhere.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as MRGTX. I used to burn'em down daily when I was young, my '70 Cutlass w/455 had no problems doing that

I would enjoy a nice burnout on take off in my '06 GT, but it was 1 year old used when I got it. I haven't decided I want tire bits all over my new paint yet in my '12

Oh, now you have a problem with me just because I said that Rush Limbaugh's hateful name for the former vice president was childish?

Sounds like someone is pretty pumped up on hate speech radio. Sooner or later you'll have to deal with people who don't share your political views...maybe even in ways other than accusing them of being a hypocrite, etc.

Yeah, a 455 Cutlass would make short work of pretty much any tire that would fit in the stock wheel wells.

The good thing about the "diaper" on the 10+ cars is that it should collect most of the rubber and prevent stone chips.

I do sometimes. I bought a 36 grand car I am sure a few hundred bucks car be spent every year on tires.

but really is that even a real question? and the whole "pubic roads" thing is silly... no one is going where people are and causing a scene.. its done on a back road or in parking garage like normal people have sex with a hooker.

Sorry friend. Your assumptions are out in left field like algore. I don't get radio here on the ranch. Too many mountains in the way. Nor do I watch your hate speech broadcast news propaganda either. And I only drive to town a few times a month - usually late afternoon or evening. The only (AM) thing that comes in clear is the lib KGO from San Fran.

No big deal. Just thought it was funny how you pipe up and attack my post on the whack job leftanista CNN article about our bad V8's, and then make a thread about burning rubber - which is about the worst polluting smoke there is.

Carry on Mr. Connecticut.

BTW I never, ever do burnouts in my Ford vehicles. And if I did I wouldn't be dumb enough to post it here for Ford to read.
