Slight hesitation around 5k rpm

Anyone noticed a slight hesitation when accelerating hard around 5k rpm?

It might be related to the Steeda tune, but I notice very sporadically, a small hesitation. In most cases, its when I'm pussyfooting around and then decide to air it out a bit.

So for instance I'm cruising along at 2500 or 3k, not much gas at all, if I stomp on it climbs quickly to 5k but then hesitates for a split-second before continuing on up to 7k rpm.

If I hammer through the gears, I never notice it. Mostly when I'm cruising along with no pressure on the accelerator and then floor it. Almost like the fuel trim changes and the PCM has to re compensate everything.

Anyone notice this?

it sounds like it might be the "torque limiting" that was discussed in one of the threads about tunes . . . I think it was the thread about 15 HP gain with Tune per Magazine Test, something like that

EDIT: here's the thread

Isnt the torque limiting more of a linear thing though? I wouldnt think it would cause such a sudden jolt.

Quick update to anyone else who has this behavior... when I got the updated tune from Steeda this went away.

So not only is the new version of the tune get more HP, it seems more stable too.

Get it if you haven't already!
