Showing off UNINSTALLED mods and my new racing stripes

Here's a new video showing a quick rundown of some of the parts that will soon be on my '13 GT.

And here is a pic of the stripes... still a work in progress. The stripes and my lowering springs will both be completed tomorrow afternoon.

Just curious as to why you didn't just buy a Boss in the first place?

I hope your not thinking your gonna eat a boss up with Eibach lowering springs and sway bars... Your gonna need more suspension upgrades to do that.. as far as a 500 rwhp N/A build those JPC heads and cam package are expensive.. you could just put a blower on it and tune with the boss mannifold and beat a boss in the straight line but not in the corners.

A few answers for you guys:

Lowering springs are from the Eibach pro-kit (drops 1.5'' in front, 1'' in rear) and the stripes are vinyl, not painted on.

Stripes, lowering springs, and panhard bar are all done now. Putting on the anti-roll and sway bars next. Tomorrow I'll do a video showing all of that off, along with the hood struts I put on last week to eliminate that awful prop-rod.

I've owned a Boss, I know how to beat one. I've got more planned for this car than what I'm showing right now. I'm also NEVER going to put a blower on my engine. Naturally aspirated is much more fun for me and actually cheaper when you know the right people that make these heads and cams.

Yea JPC or Livernois... BUt Question you got rid of A boss for a GT? for that.. but on a good note hopefully your N/A quest goes great I am sure it will.. are you planning on doing the same build as the one JPC already did?

I had my reasons for getting rid of the Boss. I don't wish to start a flame war so I'll just say it wasn't what I wanted. I'd rather mod a '13 GT to my liking than have a '12 Boss that I respect too much to mod.

Anyway, the JPC "Top Dog" setup is 75% of what I'm going for but we're doing a few different, custom things for me. Using the Boss quad-exhaust and parts of the Track Pack that came on my GT, for example.

The only things I'm pulling right from their package are their headers, cylinder heads, and camshafts. I am working with a close friend to make our own forged pistons and connecting rods. Lastly, we'll likely just use the Boss crankshaft and make this frankenstein of an engine: A mix of Ford Racing parts, aftermarket parts, and custom parts.

The end goal: 470+rwhp (hopefully hitting right near 500) N/A engine that still idles buttery smooth and has no issue with cruising at low rpms. With all the great minds and mechanics that I have on board to help with this project, I think this goal is easily attainable.

Not to upset anyone, but...why would you trade in a Boss for a GT just to make the GT do what the Boss will do, and for what will likely be more money than just buying the Boss? Maybe I'm missing something, but...that just sounds backwards.

From what I gather from his posts, he wants a car that will out perform a Boss. And he doesn't want to mod a future collectable. Not to mention a GT will have more comfort than a Boss if you use it for a daily driver. And his new car will be customized to his taste. I totally understand and would do the same if I had the means to do so myself. But alas I do not so I will follow along and enjoy seeing the build unfold.

If it will out-perform a Boss, it won't be more comfortable (assuming you're talking about suspension/ride). If it's more comfortable, it's not going to be fast enough around the corners because it will have too much body roll. I understand wanting to do things yourself, but this seems like an expensive way to do what's already been done. :-/
