Shifting gates....... ****
Shifting gates....... ****
They are close.......... I am afraid to let the clutch out as 5th is 3rd to often. I got to say after the first 100 miles I DO NOT like the shifter.... The shifter feels like the cheap part in the car. I doesn't give good feedback and to be honest I like a little more notch in my shifter........ When shifting it feels like I am going to bend something. My 427R had a killer shifter as you could rip through them and you felt like you were shifting it..........
Anyone else notice this or just me

After having this topic be beaten to death, brought back to life, and then killed again, I think the reason may be that it isn't the transmission any Mustang owner is used to. Try to relearn it and then if you hate it think about changing it.
I felt the same way you did, however very happy going from a scion XA very long and forgiving shift to this 13 short shift, but now I have the Barton shifter and two post bracket! Love it. I is great and sure the MGW is at least as good or better form what has been posted here. Good luck and enjoy.
I had no intention of beating a dead horse......... I was completely unaware of this issue. I have owned 4 stangs and this is the crappiest shifter I have ever felt. At least on a 3650 when the gears were grinding you knew where they were
Again sorry for the zombie........
Again sorry for the zombie........
104............
I need to go relax as the more I think about it the more p1ssed off I am getting......

I am going to go a different route and take the POS back to the dealer and let them figure it out.............

My first mustang, but not my first 6-speed. Never had any problems on 2 motorcycles, an '07 wrangler, and a 2011 VW GTI. This is the first one that feels like it has a false gate going into 3rd under load. I have learned to deal with and get good at the cold shifts in the morning, but i just can't find rhyme or reason as to why i miss hard shifts from 2nd to 3rd about a 5th of the time.
So... went aftermarket and figured i would go all out (MGW).

I agree the floating arm from the shifter to the trans is **** stupid. The shifter should attach to the trans housing.

It's not even broken in yet, give it at least 500 miles otherwise the dealer is just going to tell you that's how the trans should feel.
just relax with the drama and learn how to use it. now all cars work the same.
