That's one ugly looking car, but I'd buy it for $995

meh, its not bad. i like that its a handling package you can get for a V6 car as well as V8 though..

still.. it seems like you could build better for less. i do like the hood though

also i hate black and silver

The hood yes do the rest on your own cheaper. Replacement hood probably is $5000 knowing how they did with the GT 500 hood replacements.

why does the front end look better than that of the GT350? or at least the grill maybe.

I'm confused, you guys think the 2012 mustang is ugly? I thought more people liked the 2010+ look.

Call me crazy, but I think it is brilliant.

So, the 2007 to 2008 Shelby GT was 315 hp, based on a Premium GT, in most cases, with a $9,995 Shelby package on it (which, admittedly, was taken straight from the Ford Racing parts bin with CS front and rear bumpers for good measure) and it only came in white, black, blue and orange, with a Barrett Jackson SE thrown in for good measure.

And some of those cars sat on dealer lots until they gave them away and ate the cost of the Shelby package...

Now, instead of premade cars shipping to dealerships, you can make an appointment and have your own car turned into the Shelby GTS. I am thinking of the possibilities here. Any color you want...any options from Ford you want...a larger list of options from Shelby...I think it is brilliant.

Am I wrong here?

I think the customer wins as well as Shelby. They only sell upgrades to people who are willing to pay for the name and the customer gets exactly the Shelby they desire.

Which means, I can buy my Mustang now, order it exactly the way I want it, glass roof, red interior, heated seats, whatever. Then when I am ready, I take it to Vegas and Shelby eats it and gives birth to a performance enhanced, made to order legacy car.

Sure, I could do the same mods for less, but I kind of dig the Shelby legacy.

I like it. In fact, I'd love to get the hood and the front fascia, along with the Super Snake wide stripe, just on looks alone.

I do think the idea is a smart one if they want to "grow the brand". However, I would be curious how many people will take them up on this, given that it is now taking well over 6 or more months to get several hundred GT350s produced.

I kinda like the hood. It is a blend of the Terlingua / Hertz GT-H and the new power bulge.

The silver and black is bland. I am picturing Kona Blue with Silver Super Snake wide stripes.

Or Black with Gold stripes.

Of course, those are just rehashes of the already done colors. It would be great to see what the options are for stripes and the various colors for 2010, 2011, 2012 Mustangs.

I'm pretty sure they're talking about the front bumper in the posted link..

I prefer stock Shelby front than that one

The fact that either a V6 or V8 is an option is too much for me, Shelby's are supposed to be exclusive... And $10,000 is too much!

No, we love the new Mustang but Shelby made it ugly.

Love your car, Ryan R - and I believe the $10,000 will MAKE the Shelby exclusive. It will just allow penny pinchers like me to buy into the club for less than 40 grand. And technically, they can add a different paint job and call the V6 version the Terlingua and be more true - a V6 will never actually be a "GT"S
