It says Shelby. Of course it's cosmetic. SVT makes the GT500 badass. Shelby trim tacks on probably more than $15k to the sticker. With the optional SC version, the add on is $18k. Just a little more and you can buy the GT500. I still say Shelby needs to take a special edition role with Ford like Saleen did for so many years. Special order only. A SVT cobra should be available to us and cost at least $10k less than the GT500. Plus we wouldn't have all that awful Shelby crap all over it.

Cool

The supercharged 2014 Shelby GT actually sounds like a fair deal. Once all the GT 500 Mustangs have been all sold, an owner of a Mustang GT has the option of having their own GT converted to a Shelby GT that should have performance as good or better than a GT 500. Shelby puts some good hard core race parts into their build. For those who do not have the time or skills to build a high performance car, Shelby does the work for them.

That car was fantastic, I don't care what any critics say. I got more looks and more compliments on that car than I have on the 500. And to tell you the truth, that car inspired more confidence on the road than the 500 does. I wanted more power, but when you stuffed it into a turn something about it felt reassuring that it was going to do what you wanted.

Don't get me wrong, the 500 will take a corner much faster than the SGT would, but if I'm honest, I don't feel as confident going into the turn that it will, its only after exiting it that I breathe a sigh of relief when I cook it in really hot. The 500 has actually scared me a few times, hoping it would stick (of course I was no where near its limit) but I felt anxious.

I never once felt that in the SGT, and its grip was nowhere near what the 500 has in the same turns.
Pretty much how I'd describe it verbatim. I knew what the SGT would do in--and out of--a turn. The 500 isn't like that at all, and it's scarier now with the long tubes. There have been times recently when I've wondered if it's going to kill me, simply because I don't know if it's going to exit the turn the way it needs to. There's a...certain thrill to that feeling, but it's not the certain enjoyment I got out of the SGT.

Anybody else think it's also weird that they introduced this car literally weeks before the 2015 comes out? I can't see many people wanting to spend that much money on an older generation car.

I thought they said 12/15 (or close) is when the "reveal" would be? Kinda like they did for the 2013.

Oh, and the quality of the grille is shocking! Look how crooked it is near the pony badge!

And the gaps at the lower left/right of the billit upper grill. Looks like a cheap aftermarket fitting grille.

The dates keep changing. I don't think anyone knows. I just meant when they would start building them. They haven't closed the order banks for the 2014 yet

I know that this is the same front end they put on the GT350... And it still stirkes me as something the neighbor kid would put on his Honda. It just looks to me like a really cheap body kit to me... Really Cheap! Only you pay a lot for it!
