Just food for thought.. feel free to chime in
How many of you are going with a glass roof? Seems like a majority are going with hardtops according to the Official Ordering thread.
Is it money? Or people who plan to track their cars?
Convertibles are a whole different animal, but concering a glass roof- my wife would want it, but for me, it's a matter of a few issues-
more weight, possibly going to take the car to the track, extreme heat in Florida and can live without the extra few degrees above my head- the elmination of ever having to worry about a darn leak-and of course, last but not least 2k to throw into the financing...

Cost for me. Just not worth $2k for a fixed glass roof. Odd that they sell the moon roof in other cars for $600 and it has moving parts. I am confident the glass roof will not leak though. If it was removable, it could have leakage issues but it's fixed. No worries there.

Um... well, I guess I'm the lone ranger here, then. Cost isn't a huge issue as I'm deployed, and the glass roof will more than keep its resale value 10-15 years down the line. I got it.

Cost was the #1 factor of why I didn't choose a glass roof. The price was already getting to the limit of what I wanted to spend, and I couldn't justify the 2k more for it. 1k I would have done it, maybe even 1.5k. But 2k was too much. I also had concerns about how well the shade will hold up long term, since I will be keeping the car indefinitely.

I am getting a coupe, but I would rater get a vert than that glass roof...
I do not like the transparent look when the roof undercover sunblock is off. They should have tint the glass darker IMO.

I'm going to place my order for a glass roof car today. I sat in hard top and glass roof cars back to back at the Detroit show. The glass roof car was a much nicer, brighter place to spend time. I also thought about it while driving my 1981 Corvette- imagining what the cockpit would be like if the t-tops were painted instead of glass. That sealed the deal for me. I wish it didn't cost $2000, but the added light is worth the cost to me.

I want to get one, I think they're really cool and I'm not worried about leaking because its basically a windshield uptop, does your windshield leak? I don't verts too much and id love a sun roof or targa if it only worked well with the lines (which they dont)

Glass roof for me!
I have been too spoiled by sunroofs in the past - can't go back to the claustrophobic solid steel roof![Heh](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/heh.gif)
I hate convertibles, so that isn't even an option for me - can't stand the look with the top up or the vunerability of em'. 2k is well worth the price for me to have this...

just not worth it to me IMO
i think it makes the car look like it got too short of a haircut, maybe if the glass was tinted closer to black it would look more integrated
i also like the closed-in feeling instead of the open-airy feeling this is supposed to represent

I never had any intention of getting the glass roof but the 2010 I test drove had one. I was driving along in the afternoon and thinking, "F%$# it's beautiful here." The salesman then pointed out the glass roof. Still had no intention of getting it so I closed it over. The more I thought about it over time the more I wanted it. Having to wait more months than I planned for the x-plan to kick in for me I decided I'd just get it since I'd have some more time to save for it.
I don't like convertibles and sunroofs are just too small. This was perfect. It's just a bit different too. In addition to how much nicer it makes the interior look it has a bit of novelty to it. Someone mentioned in another thread that there were cars in the 50s with glass roofs. I never knew that. Maybe this is something that will again go away in a few years. (Are there still cars with t-tops?)

The glass roof is a really nice feature (drove a 2010 GT with it), but not worth $2k to me.
The HID lights and MCA Pkg w/ 18" W Speed rated AHPA/S tires (& the rest of it's content) were more important to me and cost about the same. Did not want to break $30k sticker price either, as is this car is aleady around $8k more expencive than my '04 was !!

I didn't get it strictly for the fact that I want to stripe the car and I think stripes would look stupid being interrupted by the glass.
The price also helped me decide though.
